At the risk of sounding stupid I will try to give an answer, I don't have a mac I have a PC and my kids like to llisten to their music on the PC but I want my sounds out of my hardware. All I did was make my line 6 hardware the default sound when it is pluged in to usb and when I unplug the usb it comes through the computer. You should have the same kind of set up on a mac I assume. Go to your sounds and your ux2 should come up and make it your default.

I hope I have helped if I have not I am sorry in advance! Not having a mac I'm not sure but they can't be that dif.

  Make sure that you have the most recent version of the Line 6 drivers and Monkey installed as well:

  Once Line 6 Monkey is installed, remove any additional unnecessary USB and firmware devices from your computer when troubleshooting this issue. Make sure to connect it directly to a USB port and not a USB hub, extension, or keyboard of any kind, preferably connect it to a USB port on the rear of computer. Try using additional USB cables and every USB port available until you are able to launch Line 6 Monkey and detect the device.

  Once Line 6 Monkey is launched apply any updates that are available until you have a green check next to each component.

  All you should need to use is a USB cable to connect the UX2 to your computer's USB port. Then connect your headphones directly to your UX2's headphone output.
