Have you made sure to power it on with the supplied Line 6 Power supply? To reference the power supply that should be used with the M9 follow the link below:
If are using this power supply and still having this problem, I would suggest that you have a local Line 6 Service Center assess the M9 for you. To locate a Line 6 Service Center in your area, follow the link below:

I'm having the same issue. Sometimes when I plug it in (always with the Line 6 adapter that came with the M9) the screen lights up with no display...sometimes nothing. I tried a firmware reinstall but all that accomplished is what seems like a factory reset. I have not had good luck taking modern electronics to my local Line 6 dealer...they seem to prefer to work on old amps and guitars rather than compact electronics. Can I send the unit in to Line 6?
