Line out vs XLR?

I use my HD 500 direct into a mackie mixer or into a Genz Benz acoustic amp. I usually use the 1/4" line out  POD to line in mixer/preamp, typically a 10' cable. Anyone prefer using the XLR out to mixer XLR preamp? I think that the preamp would add another gain stage opposed to simple line-in, which I guess could be a good or bad thing. My VLZ3 mackie mixer should have good preamps. Probably a preference thing, so anyone tried it both ways?

    Hi,

The line level input would be technically the most uncolored connection. You could try the preamp and see if you like the sound better but neither connection is wrong.

      Thanks,
