Have you actually installed Line6 Monkey yet?

The process is to download Monkey from this page (see downloads above). Install Line6 Monkey BEFORE connecting the X3L. During the installation of Monkey you should be asked to connect your Line6 device to complete installation.

If you follow that you should be good to go.

BTW if you are wanting to install individual tones I would strongly recommend downloading Gearbox as well (also free and from the menus above). Is is so much easier and is the tone editor for the X3L - so you can tweak away to your hearts content!

You will also then be able to use the tones from http://line6.com/customtone/

    GOOD LUCK!

    Regards

    John

Initially ignore the driver message in Line 6 Monkey and install the GearBox application from the updates page.

Alternatively, you can just download and install the GearBox 3.72 application from here http://line6.com/software

Whenever you use Monkey to check for driver updates, or install programs, make sure that you have a solid internet connection.

    Cheers

    Hey ntcalderon,

Download and install the latest drivers for your operating system:

      Windows Drivers 4.2.4.9:

      http://line6.com/software/readeula.html?rid=4143

Once the drivers are installed you will need to install the Line 6 Monkey application from the links below:

      Windows Line 6 Monkey 1.43:

      http://line6.com/getrelease?rid=4223

Once Line 6 Monkey is installed, remove any additional unnecessary USB and firmware devices from your computer when troubleshooting this issue. Make sure to connect it directly to a USB port and not a USB hub, extension, or keyboard of any kind, preferably connect it to a USB port on the rear of computer. Try using additional USB cables and every USB port available until you are able to launch Line 6 Monkey and detect the device.

Once Line 6 Monkey is launched apply any updates that are available until you have a green check next to each component. You can then use Monkey to download and install the GearBox application that is used to load the POD X3 Live customtones. Once it is installed, use it to open the tones that you downloaded from customtone.com.
