I would like to know if I would be able to get the James Taylor Variax tones on my Variax 300 using workbench update. Is there a seperate workbench for the new JT models or is it the same thing we used in the past for Vax 300/700? I haven't updated my VAX300 tones for a long time & wonder if there is still a workbench around for it.
?
jesus, Thanks to Line 6; Your Variax 300 has been rendered outmoded, due to hardware / software limitations. The 300 is most likely unable to to tap into the JTV tones.
Yes you can do it, it is the same workbench.
And the tones can be transfered.
Check this out http://line6.com/support/docs/DOC-2403
there are no such thing as jtv tones... the guitar models will work in the jtv's and the older variaxes...
the difference however is the JTV renders the models at a higher resolution...
so a little better quality there.. plus the jtv components such as the bridge and pickups have been upgraded to work a little better as well.
there are some obvious exceptions...
such as you can't use an alt tuned 12 string model on the older variaxes (the 12 string is already technically alt tuned)
the group you posted this to "Variax Guitars" is a user group... (as in not a support group)
and as such line6 wouldn't read/answer and you cannot mark this is a question to get their attention...
just in case you were wondering why the answers came a little slow....
Well said zap.I wonder were those guys get those info...outmoded...
