Generally, the POD driver software needs to be installed onto the computer first... before the POD is turned on. There are several pieces of software that need to be installed. Start with Line 6 Monkey. Install that first, and Monkey will help install all of the other software.
thank you i cant get my computer to reconize my pod says searching 4 drivers then come back to say needs disk to continue
why wont my computer accept my pod without a disk plz help
Are you using Line 6 Monkey to handle the software downloads and installation? See Line 6 Monkey under the Downloads tab on the top right portion of this website. Use it, follow its instructions closely (i.e read what it's telling you at each step, and do it) and you should succesfully install everything required. No disk is required.
THANK YOU YES IT WORKED NOW HOW DO I GET LINE 6 EDIT TO WORK SAYS MIDI PORT WRONG
I'm a recent Line 6 user and I'm not familiar with Line 6 Edit. However, I use Gearbox as the GUI/editor for the X3 - it's a standalone computer application that provides a much better interface for editing Tones and patches in the X3 than using the X3's controls itself. If that's what you're looking for try Gearbox - again available to registered X3 users via Monkey.
Line 6 Edit does not work with the X3, at all. You must use Gearbox instead of Line 6 Edit.
So go to the website, open the support menu choose line6 support, then go to Software download on the right of the screen. Choos Pod X3, drivers and the OS you have on your computer.
Download it.
Run the files to install the drivers.
After this connect your POD X3.
That's it
