Joost Vergoossen patches

Hi everyone.

I'm new to the Line 6 family of pods and I just bought a HD 300. At this stage I am delighted with the quality of the sound but slightly disappointed at the effects. My old Digitech has a better Chorus and compression. Anyway, I'll get used to it…

My question: One of the reason why I bought the unit is because of a video I found on YouTube from Joost Vergoossen who says that his patches can be found on Line 6's site, but I have looked everywhere and I can't find them. Does anyone know where I could find them?

Cheers

Libourne

    Hey Libourne,

I used to have a Digitech RP20 before my first Line6's XT Live

Well all the tones are here:

    http://line6.com/customtone/

Click on your unit and then check all the tones for you to download. Only download the tones for HD 300 because they're the only ones compatible with it.

Hope you start tweaking and find out that not only the amps but also the chorus, reverb and all FX are waaaaaaay better

        lol !

I spent about 2 years trying to learn how to tweak the patches and get a good sound on the Digitech RP20. 1 year to get an incredible sound from the XT Live. 1 year to get amazing sounds with the X3 Live. A few weeks ago I bought a HD500 and sold the X3 Live.  I'm at those first days when you just CAN'T reach the quality of the sounds you used to have on the older gear... I'm so frustrated and almost disappointed... but it's my 3rd POD. That's why I sold the X3 Live so fast: XT Live ISN'T compatible with X3 Live. X3 Live ISN'T compatible with HD500. So I almost had to learn from the beginning (of course I knew lots of tricks better than a newbie) and at the end the units gave me an incredible "up" on my sound. So far... I'm not even close to the sounds I got on X3 Live... but... give me some weeks...

On the other hand... about the Digitech... let's leave it to someone who doesn't know Line6 yet

Good luck to sell it on a good price and quick!

        Cheers

    Re: Joost Vergoossen patches

I have now downloaded and transfered the choosen Joost Vergoossen Presets to my Line6 PODHD500. But i don´t think they sound as good as on the Joost Vergoossen demonstration on Youtube, so i wonder if anyone can come up with a hint how i should tweak the parameters (amp, volume, effects and so on) so that the presets sounds as good as on the demonstration on Youtube?

The sound you get is different probably because your guitar doesn't have the same pickups and\or you don't amplify the POD in the same way. You should adapt the patches to your system. The main difference could be a different input volume. You can increase it using a compressor, an overdrive... or by raising the volume on the mixer (if you have and are connected to one). Other differences could be too much or not enough treble and\or bass. It's difficult to say exactly where is the problem without having what you got.

I use JBX guitar and sometimes Ibanez Spider Black guitar and i use SONY headphones in PODHD500. Sometimes i use TASCAM US-1641 Audio/MIDI interface with Behringer PA speakers. On stage i use either Line6 spider 4 (15 watts) transistor amp or Marshall Class 5 tube amp (5 watts). Thanks for the response. I also use sometimes Behringer Xenyx 1204 mixer with EMI near 5" monitors.
