I bought a podxtlive on e bay had to get a new power supply saw from the survival guide the paragraph
saying if all zeros on esn then must send to serevice centre I live in Sweden there are no service centres here or denmark or finland.
i bought the pod xt to compliment the variax 300 i bought recently boyh are registered under my profile but i can not install usb drivers and connecting bty midi is not ideal and sketch to say the least.
can the esn br flashed into memory via midi?
ps no button to e mail updated responses. ?
Updating via MIDI is useful if you firmware is 1.x. This wil give you USB functionality. At the bottom of this doc is an explination of how to check you your firmware version.

Unfortunately this will not solve the 0's for esn issue.
Thanks unfortunately the 0's esn remains and no swervice centrres in Sweden any ideas line 6?
there is no way for a user to flash update an ESN. the ESN is derived from a security chip on the board...
if you don't have any addon model packs though... it won't matter... it should work just fine...
if you want to correct the issue... it will require a service center.
there is a box on the top right of this page as well for you to be notified by email of replies...
pretty sure that is the default automatic setting if you are the original poster.
Hi Real ZAp The Pedal was bought second hand as I wanted to use the work bench software and this is through USB connection the USB coinnection will not load\install withoiut the ESN.
I enjoy the tones and use the pedal as part fo my recording rig sometimes Its good that it lightens the modelling CPU load on my 5 year old mac especially if I am recording video on the hard dsrive at the same time.
Work bench for use with my Variax 300 electric is what I really want to spend some more time with which I haven't been able to do with this conncetion problem. Service center wise I don't think rthere is one in Sweden haven't found one as yet looking on line anyhow.THe 300 I bought didn't come with the switch box or cable so I thought I'd get the XT rather than buy the interface I had to buy a new power supply and that seems a bit temperamental too.
I am a big fan of modelling technology and I am planning on getting a 300 nylon and 700 steel strung acoustic as well. The XT has been a biit of a dissappointment di'ue to this functionality issue which is a shame as I'd like to be able to say my experience has been completely positive. These days I am into re cycling older gear legacy support and upgradeable software is essential to future environmental considerations I hope Line 6 are planning on takingg a lead and setting an example an old opera singing freind was always fond of reminding me its not the engagement but the re engagement!
Thanks for replying any tips on getting workbench going through the usb without the ESN being re programmed let me know i'd be most grateful.
