POD X3 Pro Second Instrument Input

I purchased the Line 6 POD X3 Pro, and everything works fine except for the second input, both the 1/4" instrument inputs and XLR microphone inputs. 

 

I've plugged in different guitars, microphones, with various cables and still, I haven't seen the signal lamp light up. 

 

It was like this since i bought it.  Is this a manufacture problem with my POD?  Please help.
