Variax Digital Cable (instrument or computer cable?)

Hello,

I would like to know if the Variax Digital Cable (Product Code: 98-030-0004) feels like a real instrument cable (flexible, heavy, lays flat on the floor) or more like a computer RJ-45 cable (keep bending, light, does not stay flat on the floor).

I use the cable I receive with the JTV-69 and the HD500 for now, but the cable drives me crazy to play with.

Thanks for your answers.

Sincerely,

Yvan

The VDI cable is much more like an instrument cable - it is longer and more flexible - and has metal neutrik connectors at both ends to ensure secure connections that cannot be broken by accidentally standing on the lead. This lead is intended for live performance use.

The cable that came with JTV is the USB interface cable and is designed simply to allow you to connect the JTV to the USB hub so you can connect through to Monkey and Variax Workbench on your PC. This is intended to allow you to download software updates, update the flash and customise guitar models on your JTV.  It is not intended for live performance use and only one end has the metal neutrik connector - the end that attaches to the JTV - the other end just has an RJ45 connector which can easily be snapped or broken - plus the lead is not flexible and will retain its kinks and bends.  It can certainly be used to connect the JTV to the POD HD but if you are going to use the JTV and POD in a live performance situation then definitely order at least one VDI cable.

    Best Regards

    Eddie
