Guitar Port Online - Dead or Alive

Is GuitarPort online still an active application?  I'm still paying my monthly fee for it but have not seen an update to it in a long time.  The main page is copyrighted 2009.  Is it dead?

Yeah,I was also wondering this....I mean, it seems more like a donation in the last year than an investment....

        Dead, Dead, DEAD!

I got a nasty gram AKA e-mail from line 6.  As of July 31 guitarport online is closed. THAT SUCKS!

        Epilog:

I kept using the service because even though there was no new content available (ever!), there was enough content there to satisfy my $7.99 a month.  This past month, I was billed as usual, but then today, I saw a credit for $5.06 on my card and wondered WTF?  So I go to Guitarport's web portal and sure enough, they are shuttering it on 31 Jul 2012.  The good news is that I get a free Spider Online membership, whatever the heck that is.  From what I've seen, you need a Spider amp and I only have the PODxT bean myself so whatever.  Burn me once shame on Line 6...they won't burn me for another service that fizzles down the road I guess.  The other bit of good news (better news actually IMHO) is that they also comped me the POD Farm 2.5 plugin gratis, which should be pretty nice as long as it supports the 3 model packs I bought for the POD...I can already see a minor nightmare in store for me in switching those packs from my hardware unit to the POD Farm plugins...we shall see.

Too bad overall IMHO, I liked GuitarPort and used it fairly often just for the fun factor and I did pick up several new songs along the way.

I have a UX1 and ove the past year or so I went from a Tabula Rasa Novice to an Advanced Beginner, which is a lot for me, thanks in large part to Line 6 Guitar Port on-line.  I likely really need a comparable alternative to continue to make progress.  Any referrals (names, links, etc) to that end will be greatly apprecaited.  I don't suppose my UX1 is going to work with anyone else is it?

Wow! That stinks.  I have an XT Live with lots of songs playable through Gearbox.  BUT Gearbox only works if it can be enabled via GuitarPort Online.  Unless I'm missing something?? Any comments, thots, suggestions?.  I'd be sort of OK if I could figure out how to redirect the XT Live to Sonar so I can at least go direct in as I could do with Gearbox

Unfortuantely any/all things you downlaoded and used with gearbox while on Guitarport online.  It does not work at all, which is a travesty.  What is Sonar?
