It's a very good policy...

For Line6 to not announce updates before they are released. I mean, I was in the same camp as the "well that sounds great, I will look forward to getting this when it's ready....blah blah" but now it has become aggrivating. I know they said end of quarter (end of March) but really, now it is just a let down everyday checking to see if it has been released. I'd rather not be informed ahead of time. Just venting I suppose. I am not angry...just anxious.

So I ask you...is it the end of March yet?

Re: It's a very good policy...

When it gets annoying, I think of how many updates did I ever get from Boss, Roland, Digitech and I realize that's why I like line 6. They keep developing their products even though the products are useable from day one. Actually there's some down side to this whole thing of waiting for updates that some might get the idea that something is missing otherwise there would be need for updates when in reality, there's nothing missing that warrants fretting over. Most of the critical updates had to do with interfacing with a computer when in reality you can do without the computer if you must. Many users don't connect the pod to a computer and these guys won't have a single meaningful issue after learning the user interface.

The facts of the matter for me is I liked the sound of the POD HD from day one better than Digitech or Boss product and I got very satisying results from day one without any updates!

The updates are the cherry on top, but until then if you spend more time playing, you will get great sounds. When I think of the new update, it's almost like getting a whole new product for free, so I have a hard time finding a reason to complain but I can understand the sense of entitlement that some buyers feel they're owed because Line 6 decided to make a product that's intended to be used as a sound card, midi controller, multieffect, Amp simulator etc etc etc. Myself I'm more concerned with the amp models for direc recording and everything else is a bonus.

Couldn't agree more with above post. I have an old Digitech GNX3000 that I don't remember getting one single update and also the same with my Korg AX1000G unit....no updates.

I think that Line6 does a pretty good job keeping everyone informed on what they are working on and when they plan on updating things.

That said, I hope it comes soon...I love new toys!

Please don't take my post to seriously.

While I DO indeed wish I had not been told that a new amp and update was on the horizon, I also know that it's just me. Not Line6.

        Have a nice day!

You have a nice day also. I'm in the same boat as you. I check almost every Wed, Thurs, and Friday because that's when the update usually come out. It's a bug that all guitar players have, you know the deal. I just try to put a positive spin on things but you're certainely right about the update announcement. It's a teaser no questions!

Sorry I disagree, I'm happy to know it's coming.  Of course I'm as anxious as anyone, heck, I'm even here on a Saturday checking to see if it's out yet but that's just because I'm really excited that it's coming.  This update will open up a new world for a lot of us, being able to save tunings with patches in my mind is huge!!  But even though I want it today and it would be less painful to not know it's coming, in the meantime I'm sketching out in my mind how I'm gonna re-organize my patches so when it comes I'll be ready to get busy... In fact I've already started a new setlist of my live patches just waiting for me to add the tunings.  I want to hit the ground running.
