PODX3 Live used as soundcard: high pitch sound and audio stops working

Hi,

I have a pod x3 live. When i used it as a soundcard, as soon as something starts playing, the sounds stop and the only thing i hear is a high pitch noise. When this noise starts, I can't play any other sounds. even if it come from my guitar and not from the computer.

This problem occurs only when I use the POD X3 as a sound card. Lately I have been experiencing audio dropout and driver crashes and now I can't use it as a sound cards. It still works if i only plug my guitar, but it will stop working if I send sound from the computer.

I have already tried most of the suggestion from this site: unpluging all usb device, trying to run from  my laptop battery only, etc.

My computer is a Dell XPS 702X laptop with a core i7-2630QM @ 2Ghs with 8G of ram. I run windows 7 64 bit sp1. I have le latest drivers and firmware:

Drivers 4.2.5.1

USB firmware 1.02

Flash memory 2.01

Monkey 1.53

The X3 behaviour always been a little strange since windows 7, but now it is unusable as a recording equipment!

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Nic

I also had problems after changing from an XP system to Windows 7. I started experiencing audio drop out etc. It turned out that my unit was experiencing the USB audio drop out problem that is covered by a lifetime warrantee by Line6. I have recently received my unit back from Line6 and so far everything is fine. I cnat stress strongly enough about checking if you have the USB audio drop out problem, if you have then get it fixed free of charge by Line6. I took mine to a local guitar shop that retails Line6 gear (they are a retailer not an approved service center) and Line6 even covered the cost of transporting the unit both ways. Cant say fairer than that!!

It is possible you have this issue If your SN is below 21X3LxS59xxxxx
