Does ,,all pod hd users'' mean only those who paid more ?

Agree. I use HD400 and wait for answer above.

As I recall, the way it has worked with HD updates in the past is those who paid more for the HD500 get their updates first and the 300/400 follow. The 300/400 updates will be here soon, soon probably being a few days to a few weeks if my memory serves me and past release schedules are an indicator... you wouldn't want Line 6 to hold back the HD500 updates until the 300/400 updates are ready, would you?
man, there is logic in your speech.
but even its true, giving people promise in definied way and breaking that definied promise gives people irritation.
human is kinda thing , always picks out one bad from 1000 good
This is, of course, completely true, but Line6 ,while posting a news saying that the update has been already released for all Pods, is just lying. And not saying that the 300/400 update will be released a few days later is also to be kinda a lack of respect for the 300/400 users. A few words in the news section about this wouldn't hurt.
Anyway - I'm still waiting for the update. ![]()

exactly... you will get it eventually.. FW is made for the top unit then modified for the rest of the line, its how it always goes...
plus they delay to provide people more incentive to buy the top end unit... Cell phone makers are notorious for that..
I am dissapointed that the HD300/400 versions were not released as stated in the original press release, even the 2.02 press release says 2.02 has been released for all POD HD models. Not impressed. I really hope the HD 300 update is not far behind.
we need official answer on that issue from line 6
guys, post something
Yes we would like to get an official answer please:
"Will POD HD 300/400 users get the 2.02 update?"
"If YES, will it take more than a month or two?"
"If not 2.02 exactly, please specify what's being developped."
Thank you very much.

Don't worry... HD500 users are just beta testing the update ![]()
haha!
Yes, yes. Bad works, line 6, you are deceived all HD 300/400 users. I hope, that you give us a original content in HD 300/400 2.02 as a payment for yours fraud.
Wow I was just reminded why I stopped dropping by here so often.
At the end of the day 300/400 users should consider themselves lucky they are being considered for updates at all.
I actually thought that only the 500's, HD Pro's and desktops were the only ones to be recieving continued updates and that the 300/400's were being phased out..... can't remember where I read that but I must have read it wrong.....?
But the very bottom line is the update is FREE and not something you are even actually entiitled to via a contract of purchase anyway. (In short, nowhere does it say when you bought your 300 or 400 that Line 6 would keep updating your product).
This skewed sense of entitlment and demanding it NOW and demanding answers is silly and makes all the complainers come across like spoiled brats.
If anything, it probably takes longer to develop the updates for the 300/400's because they have to essentially work backwards to ensure it will be compatible. If I was running Line 6, I wouldn't even bother and would concentrate on the flagship models only.
Again, consider yourselves lucky and have some patience. You will get it when you get it.
Wow I was just reminded why I stopped dropping by here so often.
good for us all. nobody needs your trolling.

Skewed sense of entitlement? Pal, I don't think any of us would be clamoring for this update if Line 6 hadn't said that 2.0 was for "all POD HD units". That creates customer expectation, and when those promised expectations aren't met, well, people have a right to disappointment.
At this point no one has said it isn't for all HD Units. As has been explained several times, those with the 300/400 and even the HD Pro will have to wait a bit longer till their actual Firmware is ready. The customer expectation turns into a skewed sense of enitlement when customers start demanding things that obviously are not ready for them yet.
And the idea made jokingly about this release being released now as a beta test probably isn't far off because if some unforseen issues arise now with the HD500 units, then it means they can fix them before taking it to the other units.
If it really bothers people THAT much and they have such a thirst for more features then it beats me why they didn't just pony up and buy the HD500 in the first place.....
who is telling this-self-satisfied person with buing ability?
this is the point man, that the feature what we were expecting is free an for all pod users ![]()
cheers man, youve got balls ![]()

If you want Line 6 to to ever see your posts you need to use the 'mark as question' option, otherwise it might very well go unnoticed by them.
Hey guys, at the bottom the news item we released on our site concerning the POD HD 2.0 update is the following message:
The POD HD v2.0 firmware update is available for POD® HD500, POD HD, and POD HD Pro. POD HD v2.0 firmware updates for POD HD300 and POD HD400 are coming soon.
http://line6.com/news/general/1200
Although, we cannot provide you any additional data on the release date or what it consists of at the moment, we can say that the 2.0 update for POD HD300 and HD400 are coming soon.
Best regards,
Line6Hugo
i hope it will not take another quarter of a year ![]()
by the way thanks for answer

To Octo777,
You are wrong! When I was at GearFest at Sweetwater last year and purchased my HD300, the Line 6 rep told me that although not all of the effects would be available, I would always have the same amp models as the HD400 & HD500. He also said that Line 6 would continue to update the product along with the more expensive units. Also, the website makes NO distinction between types of POD HD users who will receive the 2.0 upgrade!
"If anything, it probably takes longer to develop the updates for the 300/400's because they have to essentially work backwards to ensure it will be compatible. If I was running Line 6, I wouldn't even bother and would concentrate on the flagship models only."
Well, given the vast number of 300 & 400 units which have been sold Worldwide, it's probably just as well that you have absolutely nothing to do with running Line 6.
Owners of these units have exactly the same rights to future upgrades as HD500 users, as I'm confident L6 recognize. Personally, I felt the 400 was more suited to my own needs - cost was not an issue. In the light of continuing delays in upgrading 300 & 400's I may have spent the extra few bucks for a 500, even although many of the features were superfluous to my needs.
Anyway, the voice of reason and good sense comes from Line6 Hugo when he calmly points out that the 300/400 upgrade is on it's way.
Thanks mate.
Br4veheart2 wrote:

I am pretty sure that no matter which HD we decide to purchase we have only the rights to free upgrades that Line 6 chooses to allow us.
My experience has been that eventually Line 6 stops offering free upgrades for their products (probably when it is no longer profitable to do so). We are all fortunate to be given these freebies for as long as Line 6 chooses to keep them coming ![]()
I've got to say that I'm disappointed also. I totally understand that it may take an additional week or two to tweak the update for HD300/400 users, and that's fine, but you can't promise thousands of HD300/400 users an extensive update and then renege; that's not just false advertisement, but terrible business practice. I think we all deserve at least a simple response from Line 6 about if and when to expect our update, especially after patiently waiting for three months.
So you are basically saying that as a 300 owner who paid a large sum of money for less features, I should consider myself lucky that Line 6 is supporting it at all? 300 and 400 owners paid less for less features. Not for less support from Line 6.

That is exactly how I feel, lucky that Line 6 is giving me these free updates with stuff they never said they were going to give me when I bought my Pod, stuff I don't really need to enjoy the Pod but that just makes the experience a little nicer.
For what it is worth I also consider myself lucky to be able to afford a Pod HD, lucky that the Pod HD even exists, lucky that I have the leisure time required to use the Pod HD and come here to get info on it, lucky to be a guitar player in this day and age when it seems anything is possible and sounds that were once out of reach for the common man are now inexpensive and easy to access and practically fall from the heavens into my lap at every turn.
But that's just me ![]()
I think a little patience is in order. Note that the update hasn't been released for the HD Pro yet, either. I'm sure the updates for all models will be here shortly. Line 6 isn't looking to short-change anyone. These are just different platforms, and they all have unique firmware.
This kind of reminds me parent driving of a car full of kids... "BUT MOM!! WHY DID HE GET ICE CREAM FIRST?!?!" ![]()
Maybe they are are trying to prevent their download site from getting overrrun.
man, if there is social, political, racial, religious equality ? what this situation suits for? ![]()
just dont say the sh.t is a sh.t if it isnt.
(all pod updates done )
Well, if the update is coming for the hd300 and 400 a little later, that's good, no need to throw a hissy fit.
Although, I would like to see a spec sheet on the 2.0 firmware update which applies only to the hd300. I would like to know exactly what is being updated on the hd300. I know the variax related stuff won't be there of course but what about those deep edit parameters for the cabs?
What about the vocal pre-amp? Which effects block will it be located in? Things like that.
Based on past history I would expect everything but the Variax-related stuff will be included in the HD300/400 update.
This will include the Cab deep edit parameters. The vocal pre-amp is included with the EQs in the HD500, so assuming that association is maintained I would expect to see it in the FX1 block.

That would be the best place for it in my opinion - the first thing I did with the update was put it after the amp/mixer to try to add some warmth to the mic'ed sound of the amp... the results were not pretty.
To be fair, I only tried this with one amp and immediately gave up on the idea when I heard the way it destroyed my tone. It is entirely possible the pre-amp will do wonders for some of the other amps in the Pod, and it would work the way I was trying to use it if I needed a garage punk sound or other cool trashy tone.

Hmmm... I checked it last night and it was there - just checked again and it is still there.

Yeah, but... if the kid has to wait days, weeks or possibly months for his turn to get his "ice cream" after being promised it, never knowing when he will get it until it is here and seeing all the other kids enjoying theirs (I actually wrote that the new Plexi was "delicious") I can see how that would be torturous and I understand the complaints.
If I had an HD300/400 I would probably not spend much time on this site reading about how great the update is, maybe I would check once a week or so to see if the 300/400 version had been released. This is kind of what I was doing with the 500 update, checking it occasionally. Honestly, my Pod was so great before the update that I had plenty of great guitar tone to keep me occupied no matter how long it might have taken Line 6 to release 2.0.
IMO the 2.0 update is less like "ice cream" and more like "icing on the cake"
I DO have some big plans for that Plexi ![]()

Good to know. It wasn't showing up this morning.
lol dude chill out!
theres a reason why the bean is 400!i bought it for the reason of it being a "real pod"
the hd 300/400 are limited and they tell u right off the back so even with all the updates in the world u still would use 3 effects and how there put.
if your unhappy sell it and get a bean or hd500 used!
the 2.0 update included a bass amp which i dont really see how u could use it to full potential with the 300.400 or just 1 input
they will release the cabient DEP for the 300/400 its a no brainer if they added the power amp DEP then you guys will get the cabinet DEP.
the vocal strip pre and the cab DEP are the only updates that will actually bring the 300/400 uptoo par wit the hd/hdpro/hd500

I already have an HD500 and I love it.

The bass amp will likely be very handy for those using the HD for recording. Well, assuming they are recording music that has bass parts...

IMO the real jewel of the 2.0 release is the Plexi. I personally don't need the bass amp (I already have plenty of great bass amp plugins for Protools) and I haven't found a use for the vocal preamp though this might change in the future.
