Variax workbench 1.81

I have a mac with 10.5.8 OS, and I downloaded the new workbench 1.81. I also downloaded and it installed, I believe, Line6 monkey 1.53. When I try to open/install the 1.81 I get a message that my mac does not recognize the extension, which is .vxf.
So, what do I do? How do I get this new update installed?
Thanks,
Steve
Hi. 1.81 is the firmware upgrade for the JTV, not Workbench. The current Workbench is 1.73 and is a .dmg file that should install fine on your Mac.
To install the JTV 1.81 update, use Line 6 Monkey and update from file, then choose the .vxf file you downloaded.
Lindsay, thanks for your response.
Maybe I am thick, but when I login to the Line Monkey program, I do not see a menu or any other option called "update from file". How do I do that?
Thanks,
Hi - your really don't have a problem, or I hope you don't. However, the update from file option will appear when selecting one of the items you wish to update in the center box, then if you look to the bottom left of that outer box, you should see that option "Update from file".
I hope this helps,
Neal
Steve,
Please try this:
1.) Install L6 Monkey v1.53 from http://line6.com/software
2.) Download JTV update from the site "TylerVariax_1.81.vxf"
3.) Make sure you have a charged battery.
4.) Insert 1/4" cable to power guitar on.
5.) Connect JTV -> Variax USB device -> computer (you should see 2 green LED lit)
6.) Open L6 Monkey and choose Tyler Variax as your device.
7.) Close other applications on your computer.
8.) Highlight "Flash Memory" update by clicking on it.
9.) Select "Update From File..." and point to "TylerVaraix_1.81.vxf"
