Just one tiny little thing wanted with my now complete Dream Rig

Hi Fellow and future"Dream Rig Owners",

I completed my DT25/JTV-69 (sunburst) and my HD500 just a few weeks ago. I have such an arsenal of sound with this setup it's amazing. I also have a Bose L1 I use for vocals and running the Accoustic sounds through. Truly  Dream Rig!.  My only want (at this time) is the ability to have didgital wireless system that would work in conjuction with the VDI cable. Ooooohhhh that would be nice.  Much of my "act" takes me into the audience while I play. I currenty use a line 6 G30 relay. A wireless VDI setup would just be the icing on the cake.   I realize I've just been the recipent of aurguably one of the best setups I've ever had.  The feature I have described above would just send it double over the top....for me at least:) BTW, in case, I have used a wireless with this setup, it just makes it so I need to physically change the guitar via my JTV-69 switch. Not a huge deal but not as slick as a wireles VDI setup.  I dislike being tethered to my rig

Thoughts input? Anyone:)

G.

Blessings

I totally agree with you!!! A wireless VDI system would be something very nice. Although I think it should be something more complicated, as it has to allow bidirectional comunication at the same time (POD HD 500 to JTV, in order for the POD to control the different JTV parameters, and JTV to POD HD 500 in order to send the played signal). And thinking about the last firmware releases, even more complicated as the JTV can now control some tone parameters in the POD.

Please, submit a feature request here http://line6.com/company/contact/productfeedback/. That is the way to ask for a new product or feature.

I've requested this feature several times since 2006 with my original Variax electric model 700 guitars plugged VDI into my Vetta.  I used to be a 100% wireless guitar user and although I traded my "freedom" for an amazing group of guitars as well as amps by using that cable to access both simultaneously.  Back then Line 6 did not have any wireless equipment.

Perhaps renewed requests for this feature might get Line 6 to give more thought about it?  We can only hope, then wait and see what develops.

Sorry to be a bit off topic but might be of note worthyness.

I tried setting up the tone knob on my 69 to control all manner of things but was totally unreliable in use. Especially when changing from one patch to another and finding the tone knob did not reset properly to being a controller and just set the guitar tone to zero. I tried several times (XOR logic) to see if there was some mistake in what I was doing and I can say for certain that it was set up quite correctly.

So, I can see why you would want to use wireless VDI to make use of these new features but I could not ever comtemplate using VDI while I have issues.

I am suprised that no one has reported any problems related to recent firmware which I have discovered with my gear and I believe my instrument and HD500 to have been totally bug free until now. Oh Well.

Interesting:  I've had a number of issues similar to what you're describing but every one of them turned out to be operator error.  Small grievance, but the feature requires the user to pay attention to multiple separate on/off features.  Equals giant recipe for disaster.  Just my $0.02.

Not saying that your situation was op error, just that this was my issue.

Hi Mark - this Locked Tone knob control was reported shortly after the release of 1.81 in amongst the bigger bugs like the new acoustic guitar sounds, and the inability to have them work properly with any alternate tuning created or modified within Workbench.

I personally suggested -since many like myself are unhappy overall with the new acoustic tones- perhaps Line 6 could use Custom Bank 1 which has no unique models by default and instead of just putting random patches that are the same since the original Variax guitars there, but instead add back the 1.71 acoustic guitar models that not only sound better (IMHO) but also work perfectly with Workbench alternate tuning.  This way, all users of the JTV guitar do not have to choose between tone and functionality.

I believe giving the owners/players of Line 6 gear many options and choices was how the company got to this point.  Perhaps this will happen in whatever new fixed build the tech people come up with?

      Take care,

      Neal
