I'm trying to sync some SMFs that I have in SysEx Librarian into the Midi Memo app on my iPhone 4S. The files do not show up on the phone. I've tried adding the files (there are 2 of them) manually into the "File Sharing" box in the Apps window in iTunes, but they still don't appear in Midi Memo.
not sure if this is what you meant.. .but most apps that use files do it this way.
plug into usb, open itunes, select device, select apps tab... at bottom of the screenshot area, there is a list of apps that you can put files in...
select the midi memo from the list and there will be a box to the right...
you can drag and drop into this box, or use the browse button to locate the files you want to sync.
Yes, that's exactly what I've done; I dragged and dropped the two files into that box and synced the phone. No dice. Unplugged phone, tried again. Nothing.
when you hit the browse button rather than drag and drop, is it only looking for certain file types?
just curious if it might be filtering it by file type.
No, it added the SysEx files right away...is that what you mean? It didn't specify file type.
yeah i just meant that some apps only accept certain file types... usually the browse window has a pulldown that shows you the file types it wants...
no idea if your files would be on there or not... just thinking that might be one reason that they wont be accepted...
