Pod HD Pro Pre-Purchase questions

Hi guys!
1. How would you rate the internal looper to other loopers? I currently own the Boss RC-2, and i would have to sell this to afford the Pod HD pro
2. Will it be possible to make a signal chain, where i have 1 output that has the amp without the cab sim, and another output with the cab sim? This is because i am looking for a solution, so i can play into a poweramp/cab while sending a signal to FOH
I am sorry if these are questions that already have been answered a bunch of times! - IF so - please refer me to the other threads
.
I might come up with some new questions while im gathering the the cash to buy it!
Thank you!
1. The Boss RC2 has 16 mins of loop storage. The HD has 48 seconds. The RC2 has storage and recall of loops previously recorded. The HD does not. The RC2 has loop quantization. The HD does not.
Essentially the HD Looper is great for a freebie and is useful in some performance contexts (I use it) but the RC2 has a more comprehensive feature set. If you make serious use of loops then you should find a way to retain the Boss unit.
2. You can create a split setup, as you describe, but you need to go with dual amps. One has the cab sim, the other does not. Then you pan left/right and assign your outputs accordingly.
This leaves little processing for additional effects (especially reverbs, harmonisers and the like). If you run out of processing (DSP) the HD will not allow you to add that effect to the chain. It is a serious bugbear for some users of the HD.
hmm... running out of DSP is exactly what i am worried about. I guess i would be able to find a way to keep my looper pedal, because i use it quite a lot.
thanks for the answers! i might come back and make another question while i read on about the Pod HD pro.
Another question, that i can imagine has been asked a bunch of time:
3: any rumors about when a new series of modelers will be released? I - as many - have anticipated the possibility of loading your own IR's to the unit.
4. How long did it take from the X3 was released until the Pod HD pro release?

no rumors... or any indication of a new unit....
and it was something like 5 years after the x3... so i don't expect another unit soon.
i have the rc20xl and use it with an hd500....
i kind of cheat a little as i have a dt50 using L6Link
i basically run the 1/4" out to the looper and then direct to the PA, so my loops don't go through my amp...
it works okay, for the most part well enough for me, i like the fact that it isn't going through my amp though... so my immediate parts stick out a bit.
Stay in the mix and in the know.
