How to use a Loop Pedal with DT25

What is the best\correct way to use a Loop Pedal like the Boss RC20 or RC50 with the DT25?

Guitar -> Loop Pedal -> DT25

Or is there a way to do it with FX Loop?

GTR-DT25 GTR Input
DT25 FX Send->Looper Input
Looper Output->DT25 FX Return

  Does this method mean you can use the different voicings i.e. create loop with voicing 1 and play over with voicing 2. Or will I be able to change channel with a different voicing and not efect loop? (I'm not familiar with FX sends on DT25 or indeed and amp).

    sort of...while the bulk of the tone will change prior to the FX send allowing you to play over with a different tone, the actually power amp setting will also play into a difference in the playback when the tone is changed....
