...with greatest respect, this is going to be ankward:

ML Developer Preview 1 was released Feb.16th, Golden Master on Jul. 9th and there were 3 DevPreviews in between!

The "signed for installation on Mac OS X 10.8" driver (7.1.7) was released on Jul. 5th

And all we've got now, a month after official release, is no solution?

    Yours faithfully,

    Andreas

I think it should be obvious by now that Line 6 are going to wait for OSX 10.8.1 to be released. Think about it: if they release a driver that resolves the crackling issue, the Mountain Lion update may put us all back to square one.

Apple will release 10.8.1 before the end of the month so we might as well wait and see what happens.

Well I think 10.8.1 is supposed to address issues with 3rd party drivers/devices.

With an update so soon, apparently Apple has some kinks to iron out also.

I've just installed 10.8.1 and there's no change for me.  Still awful crackling.

Get your **** together Line 6.  Mountain Lion has been available for developers to test against for well over 6 months. I've had zero problems with *any* other hardware or software, but somehow your software seems to break for months with every OS update.

Talked to a Line 6 tech for the third time since Mountain Lion was released. Quote, "we're aware of the problem and are working towards a solution".

No indication of when we might expect an updated driver. Like everyone else, I'm sick of this. I feel like an idiot for upgrading to Mountain Lion. There are so many Mac users out there who are still waiting for all the bugs to be ironed out before they upgrade.

Being a long-time Line 6 user, I remember that this kind of thing has happened before and that it took quite a while to resolve.

So, repeat after me: I will not upgrade to the latest software until I'm sure that it won't screw up my Line 6 stuff!

No way, I use my computer for *way* more than just recording, and being that Line6 is consistently the only thing that doesn't work after any OS upgrade, the benefit I get out of the upgrade *far* outweighs the cost of an M-Audio interface.  I luckily haven't locked myself into any Line 6 software.

Repeat after me: I won't let my computing experience be defined by Line 6's lack of foresight every. single. year.

Smooth sailing on OS 10.6.8 with Pod Farm 2.0.2!

Would someone please have a look in Monkey and tell me what version of PodFarm 2 they're running?

When I opened the monkey this morning, it told me that there were updates available. I downloaded the latest version, (or at least, I thought I did) but it doesn't stop the crackling.

    I'm showing PodFarm v.2.55

    Thanks.

Thank you for this post.  I have just upgraded to OS Mountain Lion as well - and could not find my Toneport UX1 until I downloaded the 7.1.7 driver.  I can now play my elec guitar through the UX1 and Garageband again, BUT have significant crackles and backround artefacts when playing.  This is NOT acceptable.  I would like to see a response from Line 6 on how this can be rectified ASAP - the user experience is exceptionally poor and poor sound quality almost negates the value of the product.   I was annoyed enough when the Gearbox website and service was stopped in July, without even an opportunity to purchase the use of the downloaded material for use after the site stopped.  Come on Line 6 - you guys are better than this.

Unfortunately, they're not: the software has always been the weakest part of Line 6. Remember when Line 6 Edit was broken due to Java incompatibility (IIRC): it took them years to get around to fixing it. And they never communicated on that either ... Very poor, which is a shame, as they do make great products.

I remember having to upgrade my line 6 drivers e.t.c when changing from Snow Leopard to Lion. No biggie then just downloaded them and bingo. So what the heck is the problem? No doubt alot of users were in the middle of projects when this ugly crackling happened with mointain Lion. I have deadlines to meet and now I have waited long enough. Customer service? Line 6 need to treat this issue ASAP.  I am flicking through an M-Audio catalogue now and are thinking about changing my audio interfaces from line 6 to them...I am loyal to you guys but my loyalty is starting to falter. Fix this problem guys...

Been using Line 6 stuff for years. This has put a serious downer on the company. Still no fix weeks after it has been reported.

I am going to Apogee next if this isnt solved soon.

Using a UX2 for some audio projects and they are now completely on hold.
