Just wanted to chime in saying that we have received your inquiries and are aware of this audio issue of using our hardware as an audio interface on Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion.
We will make and announcement when we have further info or resolution to the problem.
I am sure you have received thousands of posts regarding this issue regarding the inability to use Line6 products with Mountain Lion 10.8 and software such as PodFarm 2.5 due to a consistant crackle. However, as there is no simple, easy message on the root level of Line6's website to what is quite a large problem I am writing myself to you to gain some insight into when this problem will be resolved.
- MacPro Early 2009 (12GB RAM)
- OSX 10.8.1
- PodXT (7.17 driver 1.12 USB Driver and 3.0.1 flash memory) and PodFarm 2.5.5
There are so many forums with people talking about this problem yet no unified Line6 response that the resulting mood of Line6 product owners should be recognised as feeling somewhat neglected.
Would you be able to let me / everyone know via an official message on the site as to what is causing the lengthy delay in resolving this problem?
Failing that if you could just let me know so that I feel informed and that my continued and loyal support for Line6 is recognised and appreciated I would be most grateful.
We love you products, but when an issue such as this exists, and for this long i would be prudent to place something directly at the front of your site so we all know where we stand. It gets updated regulalry so I'm sure it won't take someone long to just write a quick message and thus lessen the flow of probably more vitriolic messages that make their way to your inbox.
Well, Hugo, it's been more than two months. What's the hold-up? There are people, many thousands of us out here, who paid good money for Line 6 Products and are waiting (much too long) for an answer...

Same problem, got a new MacBook Pro with OSX 10.8 Mountain Lion pre-installed. Trying to use this Line 6 Pod Studio UX2 has been quite the hastle, i'm thinking i'll send it back since it's only been a few days from the purchase but no one has found a solution to this device not working on the new Mac system. Monkey freaks out and never actually updates the drivers, possibly because there is none for ML? and the license manager never recognizes the device but a few random occasions where it works for 10 minutes but has this nasty crackle coming from it. I'm sure this thing sound incredible when it works, but i don't think it's worth it to keep unless there is a patch coming quickly that we don't know about. I'm frustrated, anybody have any news yet?
OK.. The new driver was released and it didn't fix my problems.
The cracking/poping noise was still appearing during the recordings. It was a big noise and then it cracked for 10 seconds and then stopped. Then it haeppened again and again. I opened a ticket suport for this which is still opened without resolution.
This week my Toneport UX1 gave a new trick: when I connect it to my macbook it goes green for a minute, but the sound of the instrument/mic is zero. Also my USB mouse goes away.
After a minute or two, the light simply goes red and the line 6 device is no longer recognized by the Mac OS X. When I go to Line6 Audio Devices on System Preferences it says "no line 6 product connected".
Please, am I the only one? I'm getting preety tired with this story. This time I'm thinking really serious about buying another product. Can't record anything since Mac 10.8.2 came out.
Ok, I have an open suport ticket about since Sep. 21.

On my behalf and of other customers, I want to ask you and Line6 to put the situation on this problem on the topics related. Everyday I see new people complaining and you guys never show up to tell us what this big problem is. It won't take more than 10 minutes of your day to give a status of this solution. Please, transparency is the only thing that could relieve this tension.
I suggest that you tell us about:
- What happened? What does your team know about this incompatibility? Is there something that Apple could do to help? How big is this thing?
- How many employees do you have working on this and how much time/day?
- Is there something we could do to help?
- What is the kind of assistant that Line6 will provide in case of not fixing this?

hi to all, i also have this issue. recording hd500 from usb on macosx 10.8.last is impossible tu do, and obviously using headphones directly attached to hd the sound is very good. so is evident that is an usb driver problem. but it is strange that in this passed mounts no one has successful correct the bug.
i have the 7.1.9 driver and the problem still here. I dn't know when the new driva came up. The ticketk are not updated when the rpoblem is for driver... anyway when i launch monkey on makey it still notify me that i need to udpate driver but the vesion still remain the same...
So i think that line6 need to made a lot of debuging here and there on their driver
Hey guys, I'm coming to say goodbye! Thanks a lot for the company these months. I'm moving to a new device, new life. It's been more than 6 months without a minute recorded without those explosion in my ear and I got pretty tired of it.
Hope you guys make a little money to escape from this too.
Here is the end of my suport ticket that was opened on Sep 21th:
First when I tried to update using Monkey the app was shuting down (tried to reboot the system a lot times...) I'm sending it atached.
Then I installed the new driver. Recorded for 5 minuts and then it exploded once again with that big noise that goes fading away in 30 seconds. After it's gone when I say something on the mic it has a little pop too.
And this was the end of the line for me. The end of Line6 2. I'm really impressed with the **** support you and your crew gave me and the other users.
Not only took more than 6 months to release a new driver but there was the lack of transparency and the absence of true information for us.
You may shut this support ticket down because I'm throwing this device on the trash now. I'll never buy Line6 products and will try to tell everyone about this pleasant story we had.
So long, thanks for nothing.
This is unbelievable, when someone will solve this? Unable to remain so, release the program for those who have mac later, the same may resolve the HD500, this is ridiculous, there are more than six months without being able to operate the equipment, shameful.
