i have a fbv express mkii pedal the little one, and i cant figure it out.  I bought it on eaby used on ebay with the spider 150 head or what ever and i dont know what it is. the amp works great, ive had it for 3 months and ive never used the pedal.  sadly ive never been able to get the lights to flicker once. first off, does it need batteries??? or is it powerd by the amp?? do i need specail cables to connect it with?? 

I have a double sided phone jack cable. is that good enough??

when i plug into my laptop to register it it wont bc i dont have the perchase date or whatever and i did every thing all the manuals and online sources say.
