Trim Tracking - How does it work ?

In the input options of the channels you can select the trim tracking button.
How dows it work ?
I've tried to increase the input level of a channel to see what's going on,
but I can not hear any difference.
Can anybody explain it more detailed.
Thanks
Yes ! That would interest me too !
for the moment, i'm not convinced by those solutions
Trim Tracking prevents your inputs from clipping. If the input is too hot, so the pre amp would clip, Trim Tracking detects that and automatically turns the analog input trim down while making up the reduced level digitally. The level stays the same but the clipping goes away. Trim Tracking will never change your mix- it just prevents clipping.
The way I see it, the fact that you can't ear any chage proves that it is working perfectly
In the trim tracking window it writes, how much db the input gain was reduced by automatic trim tracking.
I checked this levels out after the last gig and discussed it with the band member, at whom it set in. He is a very loud singer, but only during gig, not during sound check ![]()
We should assign Trim Tracking to all the inputs then?
I would. ![]()
