Won't change to wah or will not go to tuner

i got a spider 3 with a pedal i brought it used from my work ive tryed reseting it and calabrating it by pressing a d buttons and pluging it in to the port on the amp i lights up and then shuts off the only thing that will work is the vol part of the wah/vol pedal

    Which FBV controller did you get?   Make sure you have it on a hard surface when you try to swtch to WAH function, and stand up and put your weight on it - on a soft carpet, sometimes you just can't get it to switch over until the switch has been broken in well.

    I noticed with my FBV MkII Express that it is hard to get the tuner function on when I have it on a thick carpet like we have in our practice space.
