Awesome!! The sounds of the new SLO amps are a real added boost to what was already an awesome effects system.
Here is my first new tone from the SLO
Freaking nice... It's good to hear some "positive" comments instead of (so much of) the whinning!
I've downloaded your tone and will try it 2nite when I get home. ![]()
I've had my HD500 for 2 weeks (POD XTL before that) and I'm loving it!
Thanks for the comments and tone! ![]()
here's mine
niiiiice
Nice bobbo! I updated my POD HD Pro, bean and BOTH HD Edits in less than 15 minutes! Too late to play, going to bed. Going to crank it tomorrow!!!!

im actually mega disappointed in the slo, it doesnt matter which cab i go through it just seems way to boomy/bassy and not enough drive. i threw a tube screamer in front of it and eqd the crap out of it and to no avail. I really like the doom model though
What varied opinions we all have about the SLO models.![]()
I tried all 3 and I thought they were pretty good... especially the "clean".
But I don't have a real Soldano either to use in comparing against the new HD500 models... hmm... how many of us do?
I know what I like in a guitar tone and I can take 70% of the models and tweek them to make them really good for my use.
That's my philosophy, take what you're given and 'make it your own'.
But in contrast, if I had to sit down in a room and take a "taste (hear) test" I doubt I could tell an Uber from the Dual or the JCM from the Park.
Kind of like beer, I can barely tell an IPA from a Lager, from an Ale but I know what tastes good to me. ![]()

i'm likin' the clean also and let's not forget the epic
If what you said about beer is true then you ain't drinking the right IPA, Lager, Ale.![]()

I ran the SLO through my DT25 and found it to have plenty of distortion. The factory settings for the amp sounded pretty good, I just had to adjust the volume. I threw a tube screamer in front of it just for the heck of it and it was really over the top. I love the Soldano. It's a perfect balance for me.
the SLO overdrive EQ controls are very mild. I'd use EQ effects to really dial in your sound. The amp's EQ controls tend to change the tone a bit. I like to keep everything relatively close to 50% - maybe boost mids and treble a tad.
Not enough gain...that's just crazy. Did you set a Distortion effect with 100% output? There's way more than enough gain using a boost as such. I find just using a Line 6 Drive with everything at 50% but 0% Drive and 100% output gives a great tone. Boost Treble to add more sizzling harmonics.
Dude, I'm a METAL head of the fiercest kind, And the SLO will dial in more gain than i could ever use for my stuff.
I think my heaviest patch, the drive is on 60. If i add more than that it sounds like a nasty fart . Pardon my lack of a better word lol
The SLO Crunch and OD are great, but the Clean is ridiculously low in output.
I'm more than happy with the Soldano. So far it's been the only amp I have NOT had to tweak to have a great sound. I reduced the Res Level just a tiny amount and Increased the drive on the SLO Overdrive Pre and it blows away everything else I'd tried or done.
Big thanks to the Line6 guys.
You are 100% correct friend, These amp models are to die for . Although i must say , IMO , The Treadplate in these are extremely versitile.
But you do have to tinker with them but they are very flexable. The SLO , EPIC , and DOOM are just Insanely wonderful ...
For the hell of it I combined the Epic and Doom amps and mucked around with the mics on each - found an awesome melodic death metal tone within 2 minutes of the patch being there.
Also really digging what I've heard from the SLO Crunch. Haven't tried out the other two new ones yet.
I'd love to hear them bro , Will you post them ? Please ...
Stay in the mix and in the know.
