SLO Tone test: Give me some feedback!

Quick tone test with the SLO model. The playing is a little sloppy and the mix is a little off, but what about the tone?
Absolutely amazing tone. Did you do any post-processing on it, or is it pretty much as it comes out of your Pod? Could you give some details on the recording so that we know what we're hearing? (e.g. double-tracking, panning)
Thanks, man! I double tracked the main tracks hard left and right. Both with a Jackson RR7R with D-Activators. The lead/spacey track is the same guitar panned to center.
There isn't any post editing. Just the POD into Reaper. The amp is the SLO overdrive, Blackback 30 cab and 57 on axis. I can post the patch tonight when I get home if you want it. It's pretty simple, though.
It's a bit bright for my tastes, but otherwise okay. Interesting take on making this song "brutal". ![]()
I got a new pair of cans (Audio Technica 50's) and listened to this patch. Sounds way too bright through these as opposed to my usual method for dialing in tones.
Just curious. What you were listening on?
A pair of KRK Rokit Powered 6 studio monitors.
Not too bright for me. Sounds like you didn't "crank" it but found the sweet spot. Very nice Yes patch posting would be good
I agree with Karl , A little bright for me, But sounds GR8 in this song . Nice cover dude
i think it sounds great. maybe too bright given the song here, but i like it in general and wouldn't adjust it for my uses.
Thanks for the feedback and compliments. I'm starting to believe that the SLO is one of, if not the best, model on the POD.
I may adjust the low pass value on the post amp midfocus EQ and retrack this. There's always room for improvement!
Very good tone in the song. Also I think that the SLO is far away the best model on the POD HD, is very natural and is very easy to enjoy with that tone, is almost real, amazing, I remembered the best tone that I had so many years ago ![]()
I liked the POD HD before, but now... is just impressive, a real pleasure have the SLO, I am very proud with the HD now because not sound good or good enough, now sound "mature", my amp is crying Dokken/Lynch tone
Agree with the others on the brightness but a minor tweak and you're solid. Great vocals!
That was cool! Love the tune.
I just updated my DT50 and HD500 about 20 minutes ago using a EVH WG Special. I am not a real heavy rock player these days, but it sounded so good I had to do some metal for about 20 minutes. The middle SLO was so awesome! I hae to use it.
Where can I get a list of all the updates in this change?
The SLO is amazing. It sounded a TAD warmer coming through the amp than here, but this sounds F-ING great. Such a good song! LOVE THE SLO. Will have to write something with it.
hey, i've forget....very good voice too.!!! good cover and the playbak was perfect to, little more rock than the original one but i like it
this song is not the better exemple, but i don't more to say to you, it's a good rock metal patch..bravo
did you upload it to custom tones??
i can't find it
eric
Killer. Tone sounds great. Love that song and your version.
I think the brightness sounds fine ..obviously you wanted the track to stand out in be heard ..if you were truly going for a final product mix obviously your tracks would be less prominent in the mix and distant and would lose some of the brightness just from this alone .. and in addition you would have likely eq'd it until it set in the mix right using something like Har-bal eq or something along those lines
The Patch/Tone sounds great.
Love it! I just can't get enough of the SLO. I agree, it might be the best model so far.
Please post this tone!
So I like all 3 channels of the new Soldano based amp
But I also love Doom which reminds me of a Rivera or Diezel bottom end thump
And Epic is a great amp that only needed cab dep adjustments .. and a gate .. but no adjustments to the amp itself great stuff.
I haven't even got a chance to really sit down with the Doom yet. The Epic could be a very useful tool, though.

Do not overlook the Epic in your quest for great SLO tone. It has a lot of the SLO in it, plus some extra added goodness. Basically a take on the ultra high gain only available in modelers that people find very fun to play, if a bit unrealistic in real amps.
Thx a lot for sharing this tone. It's really good! And I'm playing don't you now. just remember a show of Simple Minds I saw looooong time ago in the south of France. It was amazing! ![]()
Link didn't work. Said the tune was no longer available.
Sorry, man. I took the song off soundcloud .Forgot that I even had it up there. There's another song up there that I used the SLO on, though.
Stay in the mix and in the know.
