DT50 Tube Changes

Looks like my tubes might be on their way out... (squealing, blown fuse)

 

what tubes have you tried, and how would you describe the results?

 

don't really want to invest the money in a lot of trial and error...

so i figured, I'd see if there was any good advice to be had.

    Don't "Mesa" around with that decision Zap...

     

    Although I am using the Groove Tube GTSAG-AX7 balanced inverter for inverters now...I can't tell the difference between that and a Mesa SPAX7 and they cost the same...

      I want to change them all just to start fresh...

      probably not a real option, but is there a way to lower the overall wattage with different tubes?

       

      anyway... looking for a good all around combination... clean cleans, and dirty dirt!

      early breakup would be nice (hence the lower wattage idea)

        I have not tried these and the reviews on these are a little mixed...However, there is a low power EL84 that JJ has...EL844...

        The tubes determine the power potential of any amplifier, so I see credence in the approach...The bottom line is whether or not these would move the amp in the direction you want...These are interesting though...

          would have been an excellent option! if i had the DT25, i believe that the DT50 comes with EL34's and not EL84's and that they aren't interchangeable...

          but that's based on my limited knowledge... be great if they are swappable!
