Trim input on line 6 pod x3 is for hi z input??

im asking this because i cannot find an answer anywhere that makes any sense to me .... so basically im wondering is the out on my pod x3 that says TRIM  INPUT 2 .. is that for hi z ? im basically trying to figure out a way to fix my latency issue in my daw when recording and when i use amp simulators like amplitude , th2 , ampeg ... stuff like that .. im very aware that my line 6 has killer sounds on its own but i also like to use it as an audio interface for the amp sims.. if i wasnt clear enough on my question please let me know so i can elaborate further..

    The X3 has a PAD switch for the guitar input, meant to be used with hi-gain inputs. It is in the top right section of the X3 top panel.

     

    From the user manual:

     

    Guitar In Pad – the Off setting of this switch is appropriate for most guitars.

    If you see the Cliplight coming on, that means you’re overloading POD X3 Live’s input.

    If that happens frequently, try the On setting here. This switches in input circuitry that’s

    appropriate for hotter signals output by some guitars with active pickups, or from keyboards

    and other sources.

     

    Frankly, though, I don't see how this might affect your latency issue. Tell us more about your recording setup. Are you using the X3 as your audio interface? How are you monitoring the sound? Is the Reocird Monitor feature turned on or off in your DAW?

      ya i use the x3 as audio interface .. i just plug the usb into my laptop then open fruity loops 10 .. im basically wondering if i can use that chord to get rid of some of the noise .. and about the recording monitor feature i honestly have no clue if it is turned on or off .. i hope my response helps with understanding.. if not let me know .. thanks

        OK - using the X3 as your audio interface, the first thing you need to do is to connect your speakers/monitors to the X3 audio outputs. The X3 becomes your soundcard - your internal soundcard in your PC is bypassed.

         

        Next, make sure that fruitloops is configured to use the X3 and its ASIO driver as the audio input/output. device. There will be some audio setup/configuration window in fruitloops for this; I'm not familiar with it so can't tell you exactly where it is - go on a hunt. Similar thing with the record monitoring feature in fruitloops - find it and turn it off.
