Pod X3 Pro Computer connections help needed

I already have a focusrite 2i2 scarlett audio interface that i use for recording vocals and guitar into Ableton 8.1.1. This connected to my hi fi using the speaker outs (standard stereo jacks) on the audio interface into my amplifier by the auxilary input, if I use the Pod X3 pro as my audio interface can i use these jacks for the time being to connect to my hi fi in this way and get sound through my speakers, or do i need to use XLR outs from the X3 into my auxilary on my amp to get my sound through my speakers. I just want to get sound through speakers and record using usb connection at first, will this work? Dont want to buy cables i dont need!

    It depends on whether your speakers are active (self-powered), or passive (powered by your hifi amp). The X3 does not provide power to the speakers.

      The hi fi amp powers the speakers (passive) but my current audio interface plugs into the auxillary on amp and gives me sound through the speakers, if the X3 acts like an audio interface shouldnt this work?

       

      My amp is the power between the speakers and audio interface and i just use my auxillary channel to listen when i selct it in my DAW. My amp powers the speakers i just want the sound from the X3 to go through my speakers, isnt this just like using a power amp?

       

      Is there any speaker out connections on the x3 that take a normal jack, same size as a guitar e.t.c if so thats what i am doing now if the X3 acts as a sound card or audio interface.
