Mic preamp not strong enough => vocoder doesn't work

I think there are many people who don't get the vocoder to work. I have the same problem with this mic http://www.thomann.de/gb/superlux_pra_d1.htm When I use a normal mic preset I can get enough gain through a compressor. But it isn't possible to use a compressor for the vocoder ![]()
Of course I have turned the mic preamp level to the maximum level.
Same here really. I wish we could have more control over the signal chain that delivers the mic signal to the vocoder.
Yep.. I have struggled with the vocoder too (though I'ts not an effect I really want to use, but I did have a good go at getting it to work decently).
I have seen a youtube clip with what I recall as being a HD used for a livin' on a prayer cover, so I guess it MUST work if your lucky enough to set it up right.
Stay in the mix and in the know.
