Bursts of Static with UX1 and Live 7

I am getting loud bursts of static when using UX1 with Live 7.Static occurs when recording and on playback. I am running XP and have adjusted buffer size and bit rates as suggested. Any advice on how to resolve this issue?

    Burst of static are typically cause by the bitstream being interrupted.
