M5 - Roland Cube 40XL no clean

Hi,

 

When connecting the M5 through the 40XL, I can't get clean through the JC Clean setting when setting the M5 to off, same if I select the amps Lead setting, I get no clean. I can get FX, though. Clean works via mono plugs but. Anyone used/tested the M5 on this amp? Thanks.
