I was recently at guitar center and noticed they have a mkII head on display so I took a look and to my suprise there where none of those spring & cap tube holders like mine there was silver rings around the base at a angle . My question is.. why the change? My tubes all blew out randomly a few weeks ago and they have burn holes through the tubes where the springs were touching it, could this have happened to more people?
