OK, so I'm not actually expecting anything to explode. However, I do have a Dwarfcraft Great Destroyer (ostensibly a fuzz pedal) which I built from a kit recently.
While I like some of the mad noises I can get from it (it's very interactive with the volume and tone controls), it bothers me that I can't sustain a note for more than a few seconds without it making this weird 'sputtering out' noise and the signal level dropping. The pedal design means that this is expected behaviour.
So, I'm thinking I could stick the pedal in my HD500's FX loop set on line level, thus increasing the input level and discouraging the sputtering out. I could then attenuate the output with the pedal's own volume control, or, presumably, readjust the levels in the HD500.
Anyway, my question is this: although the voltages involved are small, is there any chance of me damaging any of the pedal's internal components by hitting it at line level?
