The local music store said that you're discontinuing the product. I wanted to buy a unit, but hearing this filled me with mixed feelings.
If you are discontinuing the product does that mean that you are making a new one?
I'm not a Line 6 rep or anything, but I'd say it's probably about a 99.9% chance the sales guy at your local music store was talking out his butt.
I think your local music store is full of it... It's still available everywhere online, and there's no signs of it being discontinued.
Your local guy just wanted to sell you something - and since he doesn't understand and hence can't demonstrate Line 6 stuff he told you whatever he thought would turn you toward something he prefers to sell. He's full of cr@p.
I worked in an electrical retailer when I was quite a bit younger and, frankly, we would say virtually anything to encourage people to buy whatever we were being offered a bonus on that week. I reckon Silverhead is bang on.
He's probably getting money back or points on a similar product from another manufacturer. Or possibly he's trying to unload some other inventory that doesn't sell...
Logically, Line 6 do not have another product out to replace the HD500 and it is a bestseller so I call pants also.
call and complain - maybe they'll give you a discount. and they should definitely be able to order you one.
Stay in the mix and in the know.
