Hi all.

I'm just getting back into playing guitar (again) but I'm not well versed in modeling amps and effects pedals.

I'm in the market for either a modeling combo amp like the Spider and Fender Mustang or an efects pedal that allows me to download custom user created tones.  Specifically I'm looking for custom tones for 90's rock, grunge groups specifically for Smashing Pumpkins (Siamese Dream sound).  I also want metal and nu-metal sounds available aswell.  I've been doing a some research loooking at the Line 6's and the Fender Mustangs, but again, I'm not clear on whats compatable with what as far as the different amps and pedals go.

I guess first question is what is your recommendation as far as Line 6 options go?  What are the differences between the Podxt, Live, Pro or FloorPOD Plus? Are the tones compatible between those?  Are they compatabile with the Spider amps?  By looking through the Line 6 tone database, I found that there arent any Smashing Pumpkins tones avaialbe for the Spider amps but there are for the POD pedals.

Can anyone give me some info in how they compare with the Fender Mustang products?
