Hi,

I have a question regarding the actual ''sound engine'' from these two devices. I don't know the correct term, so i'm using the sound engine one, I'll try to explain, so barre with me...

I am in process of ordering a line 6 pod.

And I intend to use it just as a simple JCM 800 simulation run via SPDIF cable to my sound card.

So I have a question:

 - Since there is a huge price difference between the POD Desktop and POD PRO, I am thinking about going with the desktop version, considering the way that i would use it. But I'm wondering is there any sound difference between the two when used the way I explained?

I was looking all over the line 6 website, and as far as I can tell. If you put the POD Desktop and POD PRO side by side, and you connect them the same way (for instance via SPDIF) and you turn the same amp simulation on both devices with same settings, they should sound the SAME.

Which if it were true, would really help me with cutting down the cost.

So If any of you guys have experience regarding this, I would really appreciate it if you could help!

Thanks in advance to all pod users!!!

P.S.

Also if anyone of pod users has connected their PODs this way, do you have any latency issues?
