Model Packs increase the number of Amp or FX Models of a GuitarPort, TonePort, PODxt, PODxt Live or PODxt Pro, for a wider variety of tone possibilities. When a particular tone in the library relies on a Model available in one of these packs, you'll see symbol(s) to indicate which Packs: MS (Metal Shop), CC (Classics Collection), FX (FX Junkie), and PP (Power Pack).

The models within the FX Junkie Model Pack are already included in PODxt Live, and offered for purchase to add-on to GuitarPort, TonePort, PODxt and PODxt Pro.

Variax is the uniquely flexibile guitar from Line 6. Our Vetta II amplifier includes a digital connection for the Variax that lets you store settings for both your amp and your guitar in the Vetta II so that when you call up a Vetta Channel Memory your amp and guitar can change sounds together. Vetta II Tones marked with this guitar symbol include this Variax data.

For each tone in the library, you'll see an icon for either a single coil or humbucker pickup. This tells you whether the tone is best for use with a single coil pickup or a humbucker, so you can select the appropriate pickup on your guitar when using this tone.

Attention POD 2.0, Flextone and HD147 owners... Your hardware doesn't do Stomp effects, so you'll hear something different than what was intended. Try increasing the Drive or choose a higher gain Amp Model to get the right sound. The other aspects of the sound should translate as expected, so you'll at least get a great starting place for tweaking.

I have a very specific workflow for my Helix. My patches are all designed to be used in eight-snapshot mode. Further, my output signal path splits in two to allow me to go direct to FOH via XLR (including cab block) and to a stereo amp via the 1/4" output (excluding cab block). As such, my outputs 2A and 2B outputs are set to XLR and 1/4" respectively, not to Multi, so you won't get any signal over USB unless you modify the patch and also you must have your headphone monitoring the XLR output only or you will get weird mix of XLR with cab and 1/4" without cab in your headphones. - The patch uses the Line6 2204 Mod amp block with a stereo cab (for 2A XLR out only). - It's designed for use with a standard USA Strat with stock pickups. All clean parts should be played in position 1 (neck) and all drive parts should be played in position 5 (bridge). - Various parameters of the amp are assigned to snapshots allowing me to change them according to the relevant snap. - There is a Fassel wah block which is assigned to EXP2. The Wah kicks in automatically once you engage the pedal beyond zero, and bypasses 300ms after EXP2 goes back to zero. - Input gate is on due to the noisiness of some of the snaps, particularly with a strat in position 5. - The snapshots represent different parts of the song and are laid out in a way that makes them easy to navigate as the song progresses. 1. Verse - clean tone. Drive on the amp set to 0.6. 2. Chorus - Drive on the amp increases to 2.4, volume compensates accordingly 3. Bridge - clean tone with a fast Ubiquitous Vibe engaged 4. Lead - for the outro of the song. Drive 8.7, Top Secret OD engaged 5. Verse Octave - for the pre-chorus before the last chorus where Frusciante plays an E on the 12th followed by E7 on the 17th 6. Phase Harmony - for the lead after the first chorus 7. Single Harmony - for the first part of the lead over the last chorus 8. Twin Harmony - for the second part of the lead over the last chorus Enjoy!
