Model Packs increase the number of Amp or FX Models of a GuitarPort, TonePort, PODxt, PODxt Live or PODxt Pro, for a wider variety of tone possibilities. When a particular tone in the library relies on a Model available in one of these packs, you'll see symbol(s) to indicate which Packs: MS (Metal Shop), CC (Classics Collection), FX (FX Junkie), and PP (Power Pack).

The models within the FX Junkie Model Pack are already included in PODxt Live, and offered for purchase to add-on to GuitarPort, TonePort, PODxt and PODxt Pro.

Variax is the uniquely flexibile guitar from Line 6. Our Vetta II amplifier includes a digital connection for the Variax that lets you store settings for both your amp and your guitar in the Vetta II so that when you call up a Vetta Channel Memory your amp and guitar can change sounds together. Vetta II Tones marked with this guitar symbol include this Variax data.

For each tone in the library, you'll see an icon for either a single coil or humbucker pickup. This tells you whether the tone is best for use with a single coil pickup or a humbucker, so you can select the appropriate pickup on your guitar when using this tone.

Attention POD 2.0, Flextone and HD147 owners... Your hardware doesn't do Stomp effects, so you'll hear something different than what was intended. Try increasing the Drive or choose a higher gain Amp Model to get the right sound. The other aspects of the sound should translate as expected, so you'll at least get a great starting place for tweaking.

Note: this tone is designed around the IR: if you don't have it already or replace it with an appropriate cabinet, it is going to sound terrible since you will just get a raw preamp. Lots of tones on here that sound great in the headphones/studio monitors but completely fall flat out live. Here's one made for live gigging. I run this with the OH412 MAR-CB GB-M25 JS, which is an ownhammer IR with a Marshall 4x12 featuring greenback speakers and a custom mic mix. The IRs can be purchased here: https://www.ownhammer.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=188_164&products_id=407, and is in the "quick start" folder. The JS mix has fantastic dynamics when you are dialing it up and really going guns blazing loud, especially in a live environment. With volume down it sounds a little overly full, so I would use a different IR in home use. For home use, I usually use the CUT-M+ (in the same IR folder), which gives a bit more of an isolated guitar sound and is a bit better for playing over backing tracks. This tone was designed to be used in the 4 snapshot; 4 stomp configuration, so you get control of 4 presets + control of slapback, delay, chorus, and reverb. The goal here was an 80s tone with a melodic ambient clean, "brown sound" crunch/gains good for chugging without too much mud/distortion, and soaring leads vaguely inspired by Jake E Lee. The procedure to replace the IR with the OH IR (if you purchase it) is: 1) Open HX Edit with your Helix connected, 2) go to "Impulses", 3) Import the IR to a free block of your choice, 4) Go back to the preset, 5) Change the IR block to the corresponding IR you just imported.
