Model Packs increase the number of Amp or FX Models of a GuitarPort, TonePort, PODxt, PODxt Live or PODxt Pro, for a wider variety of tone possibilities. When a particular tone in the library relies on a Model available in one of these packs, you'll see symbol(s) to indicate which Packs: MS (Metal Shop), CC (Classics Collection), FX (FX Junkie), and PP (Power Pack).

The models within the FX Junkie Model Pack are already included in PODxt Live, and offered for purchase to add-on to GuitarPort, TonePort, PODxt and PODxt Pro.

Variax is the uniquely flexibile guitar from Line 6. Our Vetta II amplifier includes a digital connection for the Variax that lets you store settings for both your amp and your guitar in the Vetta II so that when you call up a Vetta Channel Memory your amp and guitar can change sounds together. Vetta II Tones marked with this guitar symbol include this Variax data.

For each tone in the library, you'll see an icon for either a single coil or humbucker pickup. This tells you whether the tone is best for use with a single coil pickup or a humbucker, so you can select the appropriate pickup on your guitar when using this tone.

Attention POD 2.0, Flextone and HD147 owners... Your hardware doesn't do Stomp effects, so you'll hear something different than what was intended. Try increasing the Drive or choose a higher gain Amp Model to get the right sound. The other aspects of the sound should translate as expected, so you'll at least get a great starting place for tweaking.

Based this one off of Chris Shiflett's recent Premier Guitar Rig Rundown. Crafted it with a Gibson Les Paul Studio in D-Standard. Essentially 4 snapshots in Stomp/Snap mode, to get the snapshots on the bottom and modulation up top. Kind of went off of Chris' mantra in the episode getting gain from the amps instead of pedals. SS1 is his Vox in a "clean"-ish mode (breaks up a good amount with my LP, tried it with my tele and it was more "clean"). SS2 is the dirty friedman amp but set to less gain and more of a crunch than full on distortion, which is SS3 with higher gain and the HBE switch flipped on. SS4 takes SS2 but adds some delay, a touch of reverb, the EP boost, and a Colorfull Wah set in a cocked wah setting, as Chris mentioned in the episode. Some extra stuff - stomps 1-4 are a flanger, phaser, chorus and delay, set to the best I could muster with his settings. Note: the delay is switchable for SS1-3, it is set to on for SS4. The delays and verbs are also set to expression 2, to adjust the feedback, mix and levels, to give you a variety of reverb and delay amounts. You can shift this to the expression on the Helix if you'd like, mine broke so I set it to an external one. Easy fix if you download. Additional stuff included: the Retro Reel is included to imitate Chris' Strymon Deco. I'm not in love with this part, kind of turn it on/off depending on the mood. Your call. Lastly, took notes from a few other uploaders, using compression and EQ blocks as used in ways pleasing to my ear from their presets - your call on whether to bypass these. I uploaded it intending to use IRs, as I do, (OH212 VC30 Blu12-C BR for the Vox snap and OH412 ORNG H75 BB1 BR for the Friedman ones), though you can swap these to the cab blocks if you choose. Enjoy!
