Model Packs increase the number of Amp or FX Models of a GuitarPort, TonePort, PODxt, PODxt Live or PODxt Pro, for a wider variety of tone possibilities. When a particular tone in the library relies on a Model available in one of these packs, you'll see symbol(s) to indicate which Packs: MS (Metal Shop), CC (Classics Collection), FX (FX Junkie), and PP (Power Pack).

The models within the FX Junkie Model Pack are already included in PODxt Live, and offered for purchase to add-on to GuitarPort, TonePort, PODxt and PODxt Pro.

Variax is the uniquely flexibile guitar from Line 6. Our Vetta II amplifier includes a digital connection for the Variax that lets you store settings for both your amp and your guitar in the Vetta II so that when you call up a Vetta Channel Memory your amp and guitar can change sounds together. Vetta II Tones marked with this guitar symbol include this Variax data.

For each tone in the library, you'll see an icon for either a single coil or humbucker pickup. This tells you whether the tone is best for use with a single coil pickup or a humbucker, so you can select the appropriate pickup on your guitar when using this tone.

Attention POD 2.0, Flextone and HD147 owners... Your hardware doesn't do Stomp effects, so you'll hear something different than what was intended. Try increasing the Drive or choose a higher gain Amp Model to get the right sound. The other aspects of the sound should translate as expected, so you'll at least get a great starting place for tweaking.

This is the second update of the previously uploaded preset "No Ston: Crunch0". It might be, that you will only appreciate the changes from previous version, when you hear the preset over headphones (or good studio monitors) and check it 1:1 over a neutral mixer against a bulk of 70s to 90s Stones songs. I guess, some preset or IR sellers don’t like it so much or some people have not understood, what generic means (or have no preference for hearing the sound in plausible room dimensions, like it is more or less in many Stones studio recording to hear). If you have a better generic Stones preset, upload it here. However, IMHO the update is too good not to share, because it is now the way more balanced. 'Generic' means, that it will not match a certain song perfect, but many of 70s to 90s Stones songs good, if you have the right guitar. And it is not a slavish assembly of internet information about Stones equipment by a maniac, but the reminiscence of an audiophile, who loves the Stones. The preset is still made for Stratocaster MIDDLE (and neck) single coil (made with Fender noiseless vintage G1, but tone knob closed a bit in most times) and the pickup should sound somehow brilliant and should have a low gain output (better not try it with a metal axe). It is made for plugging the Helix directly into monitors, headphones or recording equipment, not in front of an amp. It is "in style of Keith Richards 70s-ff sound" (means: Fender bi amping, but here in stereo) and it is intended, that the preset has no artificial sounding effects, except the Phaser (and there are also no more free DSP resources left). With the Expression Pedal 1 EXP1 you should adjust the input volume FIRST: without boost or overdrive stomp, the sound should be slightly above the border between clean and crunch (but for some aimed sounds you might need to use the Expression Pedal to have some extra gain). While using the preset, try to use the volume and tone knob on the guitar to find the sweet spot of a certain aimed sound. Biggest changes in current version are 1) tweaking the reverbs to sound over headphones and monitors more balanced, because I really struggled with the helix reverbs 2) implementing a Phaser, only in front of amp 2, 3) general balancing. 4) In front of amp 2 is now a low pass filter to eliminate some strange overtones of the Fender amp - maybe caused by the 1Meg volume potentiometer of the reference deluxe Stratocaster. Maybe you don't need the LPF, then remove it. The preset requires 3.5 and has NO SNAPSHOTS, USE THE STOMP MODE. For the Helix LIGHT-users here the stomp descriptions: 1) Pre-Amp-Mid-Boost 2) Overdrive 3) Phaser 4) Slap Reverb for Rhythm 5) wide Hall Reverb [may be stacked together with the more roomy Slap-Reverb] 6) Mono setting for the two amps 7) reduced stereo, mostly needed for the wide hall 8) mid-dominated master sound. Have fun with it! BSEVG
