  1. Thank you both for the quick response and great answers. It's what I sorta figured, so I guess I'm really on the right track - but wasn't sure and I did not know at all if the additional wah would show up in the chain. I could have just tried it, but I'm wary of plugging anything into anything until I'm much more confident in what I'm doing. Stuff's too expensive!!! lol!!!!
  2. This might be a dumb, or even lazy question, but I'm looking for opinions as well as an answer. I have a Dunlop Zakk Wylde wah pedal that I really like and would like to add it to my DT50 212 and HD500 setup using the L6 link. What is the best way to add this pedal and does it show up in the signal chain somehow? Would this now free up my POD expression pedals to do other things as well? Thanks Fellas! I'm really beginning to learn a lot and lovin' it!!!!!
  3. Okay, this is definitely a noob question and I even feel dumb asking it. How should the master volume react on both the HD500 and the DT50 when connected via the L6 link?? Do they react differently in full power and LVM? I know I saw it somewhere, but now can't locate the info. I think I'm brain-fried at this point!! LOL!!! I'm not sure if mine is working properly. Nevermind! Found it in the L6 Link Connectivity Guide! Shoulda looked a li'l harder before posting!!!!!!!
  4. LOL!!!! I meant to do that in my previous post and forgot!!! Definitely helps!
  5. IMHO, I believe the presets are pretty much suggestive starting points for a particular typical genre setup (make any sense at all?) I just use them as an idea maker and starting point, or, compare them to what I may put together from scratch to see if I'm on the right track. So, they are helpful in their own way. Definitely a big help in the learning process.
  6. P.S. Don't forget about Customtone while yer at it!!
  7. You're gonna hafta read the manual - and I highly advise downloading the advanced manual as well as any other related manuals (I highly recommend meambobbo's tone guide!!) and reading them as well. Presets will definitely have to be tweaked and settings depend on your specific equipment and setup. You'll probably have to reread the manuals several times to really wrap your head around a lot of the stuff - BUT....you will defintely be rewarded with knowledge and better tones each and every time. I keep my HD500 on a table top, plugged in and without a guitar or amp hooked up, and go thru the manuals so that I'm actually performing a hands-on learning process while learning the functions and settings. After some preliminary understanding of basic functions and procedures, I'll plug in and play so that I can hear how each change affects the sound and tone. I also browse thru the forums while keeping Wordpad open - then copy & paste anything that is either useful at the time or may be useful in the future when I may have a clearer understanding of that particular subject. I keep this document on my desktop. This may sound like a lot of work, but it is well worth it. The HD500 is utterly amazing with it's capabilities and I'm totally blown away each time I further my understanding of it - and I'm still just scratching the surface!!! Good Luck!! Find the time to get to know the Beast and I'm sure you will fall in love!!!
  8. I don't have any issues........yet! lol!! I just got the HD500 and EX1 and am now in the learning process. Wow!! I downloaded everything I could find and even made my own book on the HD500 for over a year, studying it every chance I had. I was obsessed, hoping to some day own one (I have the DT50 212). Well, my wife surprised me for my birthday! (Finally got sick of hearing about it! lol!!). I thought I would be prepared if I ever got one. Wrong!!!! It's all good, tho. I'm determined to master this sucker. Everything I need, I get from you guys. Rowbi, your site is priceless! I'm just being anal right now about making sure the initial setup is right before I really dive in. Thanx, Man!!!
  9. Finally got my HD500!!! I also got the Line 6 expression pedal. Must this also be calibrated? If so, how?
