  1. Hmmmm... I have an older HP with multiple USB ports and an older Dell Inspiron with 4 USB ports (I'm using it right now, as a matter of fact) and have't had any issues. Try using a different port. I've had issues in the past with other things and simply using a different port did the trick.
  2. Nice! It's info posted like this that I copy and paste in my "POD HD Notes" file. Thanks!!!

    2 Podhd's

I would imagine that would solve DSP problems!!!
  4. I really like meambobbo's tones. He put a lot of thought into everything. Also unclejason has some great high gain tones. Just search his name in customtones.
  5. Thanks! It's the only darn thing I ever won! But, at least it was a good one!! :D
  6. I'm not getting a chance to use the 500 & the DT together very much right now - not REALLY use them, anyway. If I do, it's with the mixer and low volume. I am working on a second setlist for the 500 > L6 link > DT50 that will hafta be tweaked when I can let her loose, tho!! :P How the heck are you, Buddy? Haven't heard alot from ya lately?
  7. Not like I'm bragging (cough cough), but I happened to be the lucky winner of the DT50 Steve Howe used in his 2012 tour - autographed and with pics of him and the amp.
  8. Yeah, I'll give it another shot later on today and let ya know. I'm just a beginner with the POD and there is just so much to learn! Doesn't help that I think I have the onset of Alzheimer's! lol!! I tried it once and failed, so I just gave up. Now, ya gotta remember - I'm just a beginner. It sounds pretty good to me - close anyway. What sounds okay to me might not sound good to you - maybe a bit more tweaking - and I have it set up for studio mode. But hey, it's worth a shot, right?
  9. Try meambobbo and unclejason. Just type their name in "search". Meambobbo has a lot of great tones and unclejason is heavier, but you can tweak his tones to get what yer lookin' for. I'm a Godsmack fan and found a close tone from one of these guys then tweaked it. Can't remember which one it was. I haven't figured out how to upload yet. I'm doing something wrong!
  10. Great stuff! Love this! Goes into my collection and I'll be lookin' for more! Thank you!!!
  11. Check your footswitch assignments. The two may be assigned to the same FS. I've done this a few times already!! lol!! Let me know if this is the case. The "two" meaning the effect and the ch b amp.
  12. By the way, I do have a DT50 212 and can hook up via L6 link, but, I think I wanna stay married!! LOL!!!!
  13. Well, 'til I can afford otherwise, I use that small Behringer XENYX 802 mixer, got an RCA (2) to 1/8" female (1) Y cable and just plug my computer speakers (powered and old!) into the mixer. Doesn't sound bad, but.....Hey, it gives the headphones a break!
  14. I plug my mp3,CD, PC or iPhone/iPad directly into the HD500 for backing tracks, actual tracks, edited (Audacity) tracks, etc. - even when I sometimes use my small Behringer mixer.
  15. I already have the Line 6 case coming for the HD 500, but I need one for my FBV longboard and can't find one anywhere. I try to stick with Line 6 products - I guess it's kind of an OCD thing - but it looks like that ain't happenin' in this case. Would you happen to know, offhand. if Gator has one?
  16. I've been waiting almost 2 months for my gig bag, so maybe I'll be receiving the new one with 20% more space!!! I'm sure it's a larger accessory pocket....and MAYBE the additional expression pedal will fit in it!!!!
  17. Awesome reply! See? That's why I love this forum so much!!!!
  18. My go-to is fassel, but the choice (for me) and settings are dependent on what amp(s), cab(s), fx, etc. and overall sound & tone I'm going for. Sometimes fassel isn't the absolute best choice and my settings for one tone aren't always gonna be the same for the next.. The 500's selection of wahs is diverse and gives you a great number of possible tones and set-ups. I would recommend starting with one that you are most familiar and comfortable with, experiment with it, and then try another - especially if the sound you're going for is another animal when compared to what you may have previously created and experimented with. Besides, it's the only way you can experience and learn about the other models. Have fun with them. Who knows? You may even discover a new favorite!! ;)
  19. As I play around and experiment with the POD, I reread the manuals - and they begin to make more and more sense. This forum is awesome for learning. Why, I've probably learned more from this forum than any other source! (Don't forget about the read-only old forums!) There's a ton of info here - ya just gotta browse. I keep a wordpad document open as I'm browsing. This way, when i come across a topic and/or advice that I either find presently useful or may be useful in the future as I further my understanding, I copy and paste it in the wordpad document. This has been invaluable in many instances to me. And, by the way, Meambobbo's guide is pretty much a POD HD500 for Dummies!! LOL!!!
  20. Did you check out the advanced manual? Also, Meambobbo's PODHD Guide is invaluable. http://www.foobazaar.com/podhd/toneGuide/
  21. Well, I AM getting old and senile, but, every once in a while - when I'm rushing to get it done - and not really paying attention..........I put the cables in reverse order!!
  22. Just a shot in the dark. Did you say this only happens during a gig? Does it seem to happen at a particular location? If so, could be dirty power. If that's the case, a power conditioner could solve your problem.
  23. Oh, I guess I should have added. If you do not already own the 500, then I would consider buying the 500X. The 500 is now selling anywhere from $50 to $100 cheaper than the 500X, depending on where you shop (I personally researched this) and in some cases, the same. At $50 or the same, I would go with the 500X. At a $100 more, I'd hafta think about it a bit more - but, thats based on my own personal financial situation.
  24. To answer your first question, the 500x has about 20% more DSP than the 500. Not really a whole lot, but it could make the difference in creating some patches. IMHO, not worth worrying about if you already own the 500. Foot switches are better, but I don't gig and I'm very careful with all my equipment.
  25. At first, I didn't like the wahs from the 500 and I had a favorite pedal before I got the 500 - a Dunlop Zakk Wylde. By recommendations from this forum (I've learned soooo much from here!) I placed the Dunlop in the fx loop and placed it right after the noise gate. I experimented with other placements and configurations, but this seemed to sound the best. Not only did it sound great, but it shows up in HD Edit as well. I kept playing around with the HD's wahs and settings, learning more about them, and finally got almost as good a sound and pedal travel (?) as the Dunlop. Now, I only use the Dunlop if I want to create a 3 pedal patch.
