  1. Hello, I recently got a helix floor and I have it hooked up to my MacBook as a USB interface for listening to music, recording/mixing, and playing guitar. I have Helix's balanced XLR outputs going directly into my studio monitor's (KRK Rokits) balanced XLR inputs, everything sounds great and I'm pretty happy with everything...the only problem now is my volume control for my entire PC is on the floor, which is a pain. I can't control the volume from my Mac anymore, so I'm curious what's the best way to handle this? I'm guessing I need to purchase an external volume controller of some kind? I don't need anything fancy, but I want to make sure sure I am using the balanced inputs/outputs as properly and I'm not breaking the bank. Does anyone have any advice or suggestions? Thanks!
  2. I’m not sure if this is a bug, or intended to work this way, but I have had this issue on my HX Effects through multiple devices, resets and upgrades, and it is an issue on all of them. Currently using HX Effects on 3.5 I have a mission spring loaded effects pedal that is inactive on the snapshots, but is set to activate the effect when the pedal is moved and then deactivates once it returns back to normal (0%) position. If I engage the pedal for a wha effect, then release and quickly change to a different snapshot, the wah pedal is active on the next snapshot when it should not be, and does not inactivate even though the pedal is back in its (0%) position. This basically activates the muffled wah effect on my snapshots where it the effect should not be engaged and there is not a good way to disengage it, because the pedal is already at its (0%) position.
  3. I'm thinking about upgrading from my HF effects to a stomp XL, but I don't want to lose the ability to just bend down and tweak a knob without going into any menus right from stomp mode. Is it possible to do this with the stop XL? Everything I've seen looks like I have to go into edit mode with the menu, select the block and then adjust parameters from there. Is there a way to use capacitative touch and just tweak the knobs like the HX FX?
  4. Thanks for the reply. Both the PC+ output and the interface are set to Mic. Should that not be the case?
  5. I'm having a tough time getting my output levels right with my 112 Plus. I'm using it with my Helix LT with my band, and I also send the XLR outs to our mixer to 'mic' my amp for recording practices, FOH, etc. I really like this setup. I noticed some clipping when playing back one of our practices so I decided to plug the XLR out into my DAW and see what output I was getting, and I noticed I was getting a lot of clipping. I have my gain all the way down on my audio interface, and my signal on my powercab is still in yellow, yet I'm still clipping in my DAW. What am I doing wrong?
  6. I just got a helix LT earlier this week and after finally getting a grasp on how this thing works (at least the basics) I’m trying to figure out the best strategy for setting up my presets. I could use some advice/feedback to make sure I am thinking about this the right way. I play in a cover band and I like to use my amp when I practice (I’m not ready to give up the amp in the room feel). But I also want to be able to go directly into a mixer for live shows/monitoring/recording, etc. I’ve tested going into my combo amp using the 1/4 out in the Helix into my power amp in jack on the effects loop. I like the way this sounds after I EQ it a bit, so I’m thinking about splitting the signal path so I can EQ the amp signal prior to going to my amp only. Then sending the other path to PAs. I would also like the reserve the ability to use the Global EQ for adjusting my PA sound on the fly for different venues etc (excluding the 1/4 path for my amp). So my thought is this: Use my XLR outs to go directly into the PA/mixer for shows. Split my signal path after my effects so one output goes to my combo amp’s powercab in using the 1/4 out, so I can EQ that path only. Utilize the Global EQ to adjust for shows using the XLR out only. Anyone else do it this way? Any thoughts before I spend countless hours building my presets? One other thing – I’ve been dialing everything in using FRFR headphones and it sounds great. However I’ve noticed that when I add an EQ to the path for my combo amp (1/4 out), the EQ is also adjusting my headphones output…I guess helix groups the headphones jack in with the Guitar out 1/4? Is there a way to send the 1/4 out to EQ to only the amp, and not my headphones? TIA.
  7. I'm having difficulty getting my HX Effects to control my Roland GR-20 Synth. I'm sure its something I'm doing wrong and was hoping for some guidance. I'm using command center 'Midi CC' on a footswitch. I've confirmed my midi channels are matching (Channel 1) but after that is where I get confused. The instructions on the GR-20 say during the patch setup to send the signal from the HX Effects, then select the synth setting on the GR-20 so it remembers it. I'm doing that, but it doesn't seem to register anything. I'm sending a CC# of 1 and a Value of 1. I'm confused on what those settings do as well. Obviously this is my first time trying to use MIDI. I wonder if I have certain midi settings turned off?! Any guidance would be appreciated thanks!
  8. Our band recently purchased a nice PA system for practicing and playing live. We're running everything through it (Bass, electronic drums, vocals, etc) and it got me thinking how great it would be if I could plug into that rather than hauling my 80 lb amp around. Any suggestions on amp pedals to look at? I'm also considering a Helix LT or similar.
