I'll be the first to admit, I'm picky and don't suffer well. :) Who knows, I might come back to it after they iron the major stuff out. Plus, a decent GUI would be nice as an editor. But for now, my 1499.00 is going elsewhere. mcoffey

A lot of functionality not in the other type modeler boxes. One of the best for live uses. Much better tone than anything the HD500 had to offer, especially on the high gain end. Just a hair behind my Kemper on realism. I think it will be good as it matures and they work the bugs out. But the one major issue I can't get around is the USB issues and streaming on MAC. I can't have a unit in my studio I can't use to record and playback seamlessly with. They should have done their own USB driver like Yamaha, Boss and Fractal did instead of depending on the Core Audio piece to work. At least that's my opinion. 1500.00 is a lot to play around with. My 30 day return window is about up, so back it goes for a refund. There'll be one more open box on Ebay here in about a week:) Good luck everyone! mcoffey

I hope they come up with a fix, because the unit itself is pretty impressive. Not sure if it really is a driver issue though. It uses stock Core Audio without having to install any special drivers, but I might be wrong on how that whole thing works. I really like being able to record in my music room without having to drag my Apollo over there, and the tone is really nice. mcoffey

There's been two firmware updates, 1.02.2 being the current one. Anytime I have issue with a device I always update to the most current SW. Hope this helps, mcoffey

Unfortunately, mine is unusable as an Audio Interface. Clicks and pops to the point of not being able to really use it. If they can't fix it, mines going back. Itunes, any type of media, same issue. Almost sounds like a clock issue, and I've tried many settings, but nothings helped so far. Surprising really given that technology is about as mature as it gets. Latest firm ware, and full update on the MAC. mcoffey

Yep, Screen was black, and only thing lit was the 2nd FS, and it was amber. mcoffey

I'm also having issues with playback over USB. Whether it's Itunes or just playing back something I just recorded using the Helix as the Audio Interface, I get crackles and pops. First time I've ever had that issue with any device as a USB Audio Interface and MAC mcoffey
