Well I want to thank you all above who have tried to help me. Of the above suggestions and my own iniative I tried, 1 a new cable, 2 another USB port, 3 reinstalling the software, and finally attempted to get into BIOS to see if a change fron Legacy USB to Auto would help, but was unsuccessful in getting into BIOS despite several attempts (I believe that the F keys are closed at start for some reason and I cant find a way to activate them at start/restart) (I am not a big fan of W8, but maybe it will come when I´ve spent more time with it), so, what happened? I went back to uninstalling/reinstalling the software, and used a W8 device manager/trouble shooter in control panel that finally said it had found something (what?) that it put right, and after 5 uninstalls/reinstalls It works! I know that is not an explanation, but rather a discription of a nonunderstandable process, but thats what happened. Thank you for your suggestions and help. garbanzo

I have been running POD HD w/o problems on a W7 mashine. I recently upgraded to a W8 mashine, but I recieve the message when I try to connect to the POD. Error: (Code 80007008) Hardware not initialized. I have replaced the cable and reinstalled the Monkey but there is still no communication between the POD and the PC so that POD Edit Tool does not work. According to the Monkey the USB firmware and Flash memory have not been installed, but because of the Error above I am not able to install them. What do I do now? Thanks for any ideas garbanzo

hurghanico, thanks for your help. I believe I have done as you indicated (see patch). When feeding into Reaper i get both channels but they are in stereo, not separated as I hoped. Is this a problem I have in POD or is it a Reaper adjustment? Thanks again, garbanzo

Hello again.I run POD HD into Reaper. I have not found the setting necessary to get a vocal input into Reaper, both channels into Reaper come from the guitar. The POD is set up Chan 1. Guitar 22k, Chan 2 Mic preset. I have tried to rout Reaper and seperate channel 1 & 2 but still guitar only. Do you have a clue?

I wish to record to DAW voice and guitar simultaniously, is this possible with the HD? or do I have to get a USB interface that has 2 channels? Anyone have any experience with this? Thanks garbanzo

I´ve had the POD for 1 yr. Today after a few minutes of static and touch and go hearing, the phones stopped working. I cant find a setting that I may have accidently turned off, but is there one? Does/has anyone else have/had this problem? What is the possible cause, and What is the Cure? Thanks

I´m a new user. Have a POD HD Desktop which I connect to Roland 80xl. I believe that I loose some of POD´s effect when going into the guitar in on the Roland, so I have tried going into the Aux in on Rolands back, but that produces an irritating hum. Question 1. Am I wrong about loosing some effect by using the guitar input on roland? Question 2, If it is better to use the aux input, do I have to change some settings to reduce the hum? Question 3. Is it better to connect to one of the FX inputs on the back? Which one? Thanks! garbanzo
