  1. No guard. I personally think it is really ugly and does not do justice to the JTV-59..
  2. Thanks for clarifying that. So it's basically the same setting as you will find most bands in when playing live for an audience then... Great, now I can place your postings in the right perspective, thanks again.
  3. "Church", "worship", "rhythm and lead worship", etc, etc, yet no one seems to be able to explain what this actually means. Please enlighten me in these so far non-info replies. So again in what way does a live worship setting differ from a non-worship live setting ?
  4. After some investigation it turns out that the VDI does not work anymore on my POD HD Pro. Other cables / guitars do not work on this unit but work on a POD HD Pro X. Everything else is working fine and the issue occurred somewhere during my coffeebreak (it worked before but didn't after, the coffee was fine, no one else in the house). Of course this happens 6 months out of warranty. I opened the unit but all seems alright. Did anyone else have a similar problem concerning the VDI or did I just have bad luck ?
  5. Before you acuse someone of something you should really make sure you know the whole story and obviously you don't have a clue. This applies even more for using the word "racist". If you are frustrated about the fact you're Canadian then that's your problem :-) .
  6. Just out of curiosity as I haven't any clue what a worship setting actually is I wonder in what way a live worship setting differs from other live settings (local bar, small venues, small stage, big stage) ???
  7. Cannot see any mechanical / electrical reason for the issue. Got my hands on a Variax 700 to try to locate the problem which turns out to be the JTV which is going back to my supplier. Let's see what happens (I bought the JTV 1 year and 2 weeks ago, don't know how long the guarantee period is...).
  8. I have a HD500 and a JTV-59 connected by an original Line 6 VDI cable. All of a sudden there is no sound coming into/out of the HD500. Strangely enough the light of the model switch works (wihout the battery inserted). I tried with a standard ethernet cable cable with the same result (it is powered through the cable but no sound either). Somehow the JTV does and/or the HD500 does not work properly. Any ideas ???
  9. So far I'm planning to go back to 1.71. Somehow I'm not happy with the sounds. I feel I lost playability (much more difficult to play clean), the sounds are uneven and I find less distinction between the models. I don't care if it sounds original, I want to have a great sound and an easy playable guitar (I'm actually a keyboardplayer and guitar is my second instrument). I have a JTV-59 and en POD HD500 Pro and previously owned a Variax 700. Maybe I need to tweak the guitar in workbench and the POD HD500 Pro and give it more time, for now I simply don't have the time. The setup is used in an Eagles Tribute band and use 6- and 12 string acoustics, telecaster and LP. I had also a very nice strat sound with a little overdrive which does not seem possible to get in 2.0. I really believe Line 6 should have put more effort to the sounds V2.0 is delivered. I also cannot understand why there are no decent standard patches in the POD HD500 Pro. It is a great unit and I managed really good sounds from it with the Variax 700. If I had tried it in the shop with the factory presets I'm sure I wouldn't have bought it.
  10. I want to control the volume of a preset in the POD HD500 from an expression panel which is connected to a Clavia Nord Stage 88 keyboard. The Nord's MIDI out is connected to the MIDI in from the POD, the POD responds to Program Change so all connections seem to be there but the POD does not react to the expression pedal. The Nord also controlles a Yamaha Motif ES module which reacts nicely (if I enable it) to the expression pedal. This points the cause to the POD but the manual is -at least to me- very unclear on this point. I believe the CC-number of an expression pedal is #7 but I'm not sure. Can anyone explain how I can "pump up the volume" ?
