    Preamp or amp

Hello folks, I've only ever had real combos or amp heads with a cab. When would you use a pre-amp in Helix? I can see no power amps. Thanks
  2. If I click on the folder in the setlist selection bar, I get a blue border around the list like in the pic. I have also had the border around the other part of the interface if I click the number to the left of the "Per preset" menu. What does it mean? Please forgive the many questions that are coming, I'm completely new to Helix and Line 6 in general. Cheers
  3. Thanks, I'll go the D&D route:) Please explain :)
  4. Yes I did thanks but I ran out of time. I need to see how to sign just an amp head now so that I can put an it after it, if that's how it's done. Cheers
  5. Good thinking folks. It's one of those "Why didn't I think of that?" moments. So what gets backed up if I do a "Bundle export"? I've done one as soon as I plugged it in straight from the factory and put that into a dedicated folder. Does a bundle back everything up? Thanks for your help :)
  6. Hello folks, Is there a way to lock the factory presets so you can't inadvertently overwrite them? I like to keep mine for the first few weeks as reference. Cheers
  7. I thought it would be the manual method. Guru, the reason is, in my case anyway, I don't want to switch to a patch and WHAM you're bending the vu needles :) I like them all reasonable. What I normally do is have the cleanest least compressed patch, create one of you don't have one, strum it really hard and adjust the patch output level with my interface input knobs central and the master output volume central. Then I save the patch and use that as a reference. When I create a new patch I put the knobs back central, play the reference patch, note the db, pay the new patch and match the output. I know all that about perceived volume but this is just to stop you jumping out of your skin ;)
  8. Spot on, thank you. Sorry for being a numb nuts but this is a big step up from my Boss GT100. CHEERS :)
  9. Hello folks, I've imported some IRs but when I'm in the editor and select "Impulse Response" I only get the two that came with the unit displaying. What am I doing wrong? Cheers Phil
  10. Hello folks, Is there a quick way to match the output of patches? As with all of these devices, when scrolling through the patches some blow your windows out and others are quiet. How do you set yours up so that you can go to anything and it won't be too loud? Thanks
