Hello, I've tried dragging and dropping a vintage delay from line 2 to line 1, it won't even move upwards, only across or down, I tried copy and pasting and I just get a message saying "Cannot paste block". I only have a noise gate, distortion, amp and an ir on line 1. What am I doing wrong? Cheers Update: While I was trying to drag the delay block to various places I didn't notice that the display on the unit was changing. I went to another patch and did some recording. I then went back to the patch in question and Helix app stopped working. If I have the Helix unit switched into the offending patch and start the software, it says helix isn't connected. I have to manually switch to another patch on the hardware and then open the software. I then noticed that the display on the unit for that patch showed three delay blocks. The original, one where I was trying to drag/copy the block to on line 1 and a further one on line 2b. This must be what's causing the crash because the unit doesn't match the software. Very strange. I'll have to delete the patch and start again.

Thanks, Put me on my back foot a bit thinking maybe it thought I hadn't done the updates which in turn made me think I'd done them wrong. As more come out and if I have to do a factory reset ever, would I have to do them all again incrementally or just the latest? Cheers

I have just got back from a holiday and I thought I'd see if there were any updates. I opened up the updater for Helix and it is showing two updates that I know I have already done. Is this normal? I would have expected a "Your Helix is up to date" screen or similar. Cheers

Yeah I guess the Helix is basically an electronic pedal board and amp system. I'm only a home hobby guitarist and have only really had multi effects so don't have the experience of putting pedals together and I've only really edited presets. My last one, before this Helix LT was a Boss GT100 which I still have, I did have an Atomic Amplifire 12 for a while but traded when the LT came out as the shop had a 30 exchange plan and I was just inside it. That was good but the effects weren't pedal based. For instance the delay block has 30+ knobs to twiddle if you want them. Sorry for hijacking this thread purptiger.

I've not had my Helix LT for long but I do think a "Helix For Dummies" guide would be great. I don't really understand having effects in series or parallel or why you would do it. I think the Helix is extremely good if you understand effects order etc but it's a mountain to climb if not.

Thanks for your answer, I thought I had followed the instructions but maybe I didn't. I can't recall anything about global reset but I can recall something about resetting global eq. Maybe the Guinness that I'd had before hand confused me. I'm not home until this eveing but I'll take a look. I don't recall anything specifically explain how to do a global reset though. Cheers UPDATE: I've just found the instructions online. Ooooops, I remember now, I saw that great big bold red writing but didn't do it. I'm blaming the Guinness not my lack of intelligence :) I'll do the global thing tonight. One other thing, do got have to do incremental updates or can you just put the last one on? Cheers

Hello folks I just did a firmware update on my Helix LT, it says that you should put the factory and user patches back in. I did back them up but they are still showing in the editor anyway. Do I have to overwrite them with the latest editor? Cheers Phil

I've just noticed there are a couple of FW updates that have come out that are more recent than my FW number. I'll install those and get the newest editor too. Fingers crossed :wacko:

Thanks, I will do sometime this evening. I've tried to put it in various places in existing patches, I've tried a completely empty patch and I've tried creating a full patch from scratch.Just won't go in. Cheers

Thanks, I'll try that. I've always just used my own sound, clean, crunch, dirty and filthy but now I'm getting more into the labyrinth that is tone chasing and the big thing is learning how each effect affects the tone and works with other effects. Cheers

Hello folks, I've tried putting auto swell into the chain of a patch and it either says, "Can't load selected model" or does nothing at all. It does show a picture of the pedal in the interface but I just can't get it into the chain. Are there certain criteria that need to be met for this to work? Thanks

Well I apologise then, but maybe a smiley at the end would convey the sentiment of the message? That's the problem with the written word, no facial expression or aural tone to convey feelings/meanings/intent :) :)

There's no need to take that tone!!! Number 1: I didn't know what was on the memory stick, I thought it was just a freebie or possibly some trial software. Number 2: Formatting the drive wouldn't help if the virus had infected my pc should Bitdefender not have found it. Strong people don't put others down, they lift them up :)

I got mine from Andertons UK ,a very very reputable dealer. Mine was one of the first batch into the UK. I have other USB sticks plugged in and nothing happens with them. Cheers
