  1. Hello, i'm using old iPad Pro and sonic port VX. Around last year it became clear that my line 6 ios cable is broken. Line 6 don't sell replacements themselves and have only one supplier who sells spares for them who quoted me £60 (they blamed line 6 for the high price). It looks as though many of you are now using USB cable with new ipad? To those of you who no longer use the ios cable, would you be willing to sell it me for a reasonable price? Currently I can only use my sonic port vx with my ipad or iphone if i use external USB powered hub at moment and it's a big pain! Many thanks
  2. Line 6 don't sell replacement cables or accessories. Recently my Sonic Port VX stopped working and I think -working with Line 6 Customer services -I've narrowed down the issue to the lightning port cable. I found: Sonic port VX >line6 lightning cable>ios device = No response Sonic port VX >standard mini USB out> official apple USB to lightning adaptor>ios device = message on apple device saying "accessory requires too much power" Sonic port VX> standard mini USB out> powered USB hub connection> official apple USB to lightning adaptor>ios device = everything works... but this is not a convenient and portable solution. Sonic port VX> standard mini USB out> windows computer = works fine So whilst I can use Sonic port VX> standard mini USB out> powered USB hub connection> official apple USB to lightning adaptor>ios device, to get it to work -the whole thing is no longer mobile, losing one of the main elements that attracted me to device in the first place. Customer services say they can't sell me the lead, and have only 1 supplier in the UK I can use Sontec. Sontec told me a replacement cable is £56.81 -and it's Line6's fault. This is nearly same price as a brand new sonic port (which you can buy new for £63). If anyone has a spare they'd be willing to part with let me know! Otherwise I suppose I'll have to buy 2nd hand sonic port from ebay or something in hope the cable works...
  3. Thanks for this response dugbug! I might need to add a fire hawk to the Christmas list then... :-)
  4. Hi Jim, No sorry, I don't have a desktop Mac. My desktop is PC and the only GarageBand stuff I can do with it is back up my files. Might be worth starting another thread. All the best Jon
  5. Hello everyone Thanks for the video link, I'd seen it a while back and my frustration was that I followed what I thought was the same set up as him yet was getting inconsistent results. I'm now pleased to say that I have fixed the issue! I am now able to record through my amplify via USB into my iPad using GarageBand and the results are amazing. Sparklingly clear stereo recordings. The problem I was having turned out to be the 'camera connector cable'. I'd bought it off Amazon for about £8 or so... when I replaced it with an official Apple one (£25) it worked. Here's what you need should you want to do this yourself: AmazonBasics USB 2.0 A-Male to B-Male Cable with Lighted Ends Braided 1.8 m / 6 Feet https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00NH11YYK/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Lightning to USB Camera Adapter http://www.apple.com/uk/shop/product/MD821ZM/A/lightning-to-usb-camera-adapter Happy recording everyone!
  6. Hey everyone, I thought I'd do an update on this one. I bought a camera connection cable and a USB A male to USB B male cable from Amazon. Initially it didn't work, but then... Magically... It did. A beautiful clear stereo connection. Perfect for recording. But before you order the cables... The next time I tried... I couldn't get it working at all... and there is no way that I can see to change inputs in GarageBand. It either automatically 'sees' the USB and offers to switch to USB input (happy days!) or does nothing and asks you to point you iPad mic at the sound source (boo!). I'm the certain the cables are in good condition and know that the iPad connection is good, as I've used it back up iPad when connected to computer... So I'm thinking that the problem might be the USB on the back of the amp... I'm in London next couple of days and have cables with me. If I get chance I'm going to stop off at Yamaha store and see if I can get to them bottom of it. I'll let you know...
  7. I have Amplifi 75 and Variax standard. I'd like to be able to change tones/amps as well as guitars/tunings. It would be great if it could also power the Variax.
  8. I'd like to be able to connect my Amplifi 75 to my iPad digitally via lightning cable in order to record in GarageBand. Has anyone done this successfully? If so, can you advise me what cables I'd need? I don't think Line6 make/sell one.
